Systems Engineer

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Kforce has a client in Westlake, TX that is seeking a Systems Engineer.

Summary:
In this role, you will bring a growth mindset to work every day as you continue to learn new technologies and skills which you share with your scrum teammates. You will ask for feedback and put goals in place to help improve your own skills. You will also use your data security skills to keep our customers' information safe.

REQUIREMENTS:
* Bachelor's degree or higher in a technology related field (e.g., Engineering, Computer Science, etc.) required; Master's' degree a plus
* AWS certification a plus
* 7-8+ years of hands-on experience deploying and/or supporting highly distributed multi-tiered systems at scale
* Effective communication and will share your ideas and opinions as we look to innovate and improve our platforms
* Strong communication (written and verbal) and interpersonal skills
* Positive relationship management and facilitation skills
* Strong analytical and/or project management skills required
* Ability to provide 24x7 support for the production environment
* Strong problem solving and troubleshooting skills
* Highly experienced managing technology environment stability and availability
* Knowledge of ITIL practices
* Demonstrated expertise of DevOps and Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) practices and principles
* Experience with Agile software development methodologies, delivery projects, and implementation
* Knowledge of basic networking (ping, traceroute, DNS)
* Hands on experience with search and analytics engines (Splunk, DataDog)
* Hands on experience with Linux/UNIX and Windows operating systems
* Experience with workflow design, data analysis, and requirements identification/specification
* Experience with cloud-based technologies including SaaS solutions in the cloud and AWS/Azure
* Hands-on experience with container orchestration, preferably with Kubernetes
* Experience with CI/CD pipelines and associated technologies
* Experience with PowerShell and Python scripting
* Production support experience with financial systems
* Demonstrated creative and abstract thinking
* Ability to triage, complete root cause analysis, and be decisive under pressure
* Experience of docker, cloud-computing/cloud services platforms (e.g., AWS or Azure)

The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.

We offer comprehensive benefits including medical/dental/vision insurance, HSA, FSA, 401(k), and life, disability & ADD insurance to eligible employees. Salaried personnel receive paid time off. Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
