Senior Electrical Design Engineer/ PE

OEI (O'Brien Engineering & Architecture) is seeking a full-time Senior Electrical Engineer/Professional Engineer with 10+ years of experience to join our team. The Senior Electrical Engineer/PE will focus primarily on the design of Department of Defense (DoD) and federal projects, including medical/government facilities, retail/commercial spaces, and institutional facilities, using Revit and AutoCAD software.

This position will collaborate with a multidisciplinary A/E team and work on a variety of projects, including municipal, land development, private, industrial, healthcare, military/defense, and other projects. The successful candidate will provide subject matter expertise in Department of Defense design projects.

Senior Electrical Design Engineer/ PE Responsibilities:

    Building system concepts and documentation process from schematics through construction administration phases.Experience with central plants, hydronic, steam/ VRF and energy recovery systems.Designing of systems and applications in buildings and facilities, including coordination with other disciplines - mechanical, electrical, civil, structural and architectural.Supervise the installation of the designed systems and equipment.Design support of electrical systems and related controls.Prepare cost estimates, specifications, and design analyses.This role will require occasional travel to project sites.


Senior Electrical Design Engineer/ PE Qualifications:

    10+ years of Electrical design experience required.6+ years of Department of Defense (DOD) design experience (preferred)Minimum of 5 projects as DOR/EORExperience with central plants, hydronic, steam/ VRF and energy recovery systems.Working knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing codes and standards: UPC, IPC, IMC, NFPA, ASHRAE & IBC.LEED accreditation (preferred).Proficient in Revit and building load and energy modeling software including SKM, Bluebeam, AutoCADPossess general working knowledge of different electrical systems; stay up to date on industry advancements including best-practices for applicability.Registered Professional Engineer in the State of Texas (or license in another state with the ability and commitment to obtain Texas license within 12 months.)
