DevSecOps Engineer – Salesforce & AWS Integration

We are seeking an experienced DevSecOps Engineer to support a mission-critical initiative integrating Salesforce, S-Docs, AWS, and federal systems to deliver reliable, high-volume outbound communications, including case correspondence, notifications, and generated documents.

This role combines solution assessment, hands-on Salesforce/AWS development, DevSecOps automation, security, testing, and CI/CD delivery. The ideal candidate will have strong experience with Salesforce integrations, serverless AWS architecture, high-volume processing, automated security testing, and federal security/compliance frameworks.

Key Responsibilities

Solution Assessment & Architecture

• Assess end-to-end communication workflows across Salesforce, S-Docs, AWS, and VA Notify.
• Evaluate S-Docs capabilities for generating accurate and consistent HTML/PDF documents and templates.
• Identify data dependencies, automation triggers, template governance, and quality controls.
• Assess AWS Lambda, API Gateway, SQS, DLQs, and CloudWatch for scalability, throughput, fault tolerance, and monitoring.
• Validate architecture against requirements for security, scalability, auditability, observability, and federal compliance.
• Identify technical risks, limitations, and performance bottlenecks.
• Document architectural decisions, risks, assumptions, and recommendations.
• Create data-flow diagrams, sequence diagrams, solution designs, and decision logs.

Salesforce Development & Integration

• Develop and enhance Salesforce data models and integration components.
• Develop Apex, Lightning Web Components (LWC), and Salesforce Flows.
• Implement Salesforce REST, SOAP, and Bulk API integrations.
• Build automation and orchestration for high-volume outbound communication workflows.
• Develop robust error handling, retry mechanisms, logging, and exception management.
• Integrate Salesforce with AWS and external/federal systems.

AWS Serverless Development

• Design and develop serverless integrations using:
  • AWS Lambda
  • Amazon API Gateway
  • Amazon SQS
  • Dead-Letter Queues (DLQ)
  • Amazon CloudWatch
• Implement asynchronous and fault-tolerant processing patterns.
• Develop mechanisms to write delivery status, errors, and processing results back into Salesforce.
• Design solutions capable of handling high transaction volumes while considering API limits, throughput, latency, and reliability.

DevSecOps & Security

• Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines across Development, QA, UAT, and Production environments.
• Integrate automated security testing including:
  • SAST
  • DAST
  • SCA
• Implement secure configuration and secrets management.
• Apply least-privilege IAM and access-control principles.
• Automate deployments and configuration management.
• Support vulnerability management, security remediation, and continuous monitoring.
• Ensure solutions align with federal security requirements.

Testing & Quality

• Develop automated unit, integration, regression, and performance tests.
• Perform high-volume/load testing, including workloads of 50,000+ transactions.
• Validate system throughput, latency, error handling, retry behavior, and recovery.
• Support regression testing across Salesforce and AWS integration components.
• Identify and resolve performance and reliability issues.
