Senior Financial Systems Analyst

Locations: Richmond, VA; Washington, DC; Tysons, VA; Charlotte, NC; Pittsburgh, PA; New York, NY; Atlanta, GA
(Primary focus on these offices; additional markets may be considered)
Work Schedule: Hybrid (3 days onsite / 2 remote). Tuesday and Wednesday are required in office days.

Overview

We are seeking a Senior Financial Systems Analyst to support and evolve a complex financial systems environment within a legal services setting. This role is highly operational and hands?on, with deep involvement in billing systems, data, reporting, and month?end close activities. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast?paced environment, enjoys problem?solving, and is motivated by improving processes through automation and data-driven solutions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Serve as a senior resource supporting financial and billing systems, with a strong focus on Elite 3E
  • Maintain and support month?end close activities, including billing rate exceptions and system maintenance
  • Develop and run SQL queries, reports, and ad hoc data requests for accounting and leadership teams
  • Troubleshoot data, system, and integration issues across financial platforms
  • Partner with Accounting, IT, and other stakeholders to plan and support system upgrades and enhancements
  • Provide advanced support for integrated systems and data workflows
  • Identify opportunities to streamline, standardize, and automate financial processes
  • Support testing, deployments, and system maintenance related to financial applications
  • Act as a subject matter expert and mentor for financial systems best practices
  • Participate in after?hours or on?call support tied to month?end or system maintenance needs

Required Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience supporting financial systems in a legal or professional services environment
  • Hands-on experience with Elite 3E (or comparable Aderant experience) in a production environment
  • Strong understanding of law firm financial workflows (time entry, billing, collections, matter lifecycle)
  • Advanced SQL / TSQL skills and experience with relational databases
  • Proven experience building reports and dashboards using Power BI
  • Comfort working directly with users at all levels, including leadership and attorneys

Preferred / Nice-to-Have Skills

  • Experience with system integrations, ETL processes, or data workflows
  • Python and/or PowerShell scripting for automation
  • Familiarity with SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS)
  • Experience supporting upgrades, patches, and enhancements of enterprise financial systems
