Summary

Oracle Database Administrator (Mid-Level)

Location: Remote (U.S.). Supports the U.S. Government Publishing Office, Washington, DC
Type: Full-time, contingent on contract award. Anticipated start November 16, 2026
Hours: 8 hours/day within 7:30 AM to 6:00 PM ET. Periodic scheduled after-hours work for patching and reboots

North Point Technology is hiring a mid-level Oracle DBA to support day-to-day Oracle operations at the Government Publishing Office alongside a senior Oracle DBA.

What you'll do:
  • Administer and maintain Oracle databases, including RMAN backups and restores
  • Execute patching, installs, and routine server maintenance
  • Implement and test failovers and recovery procedures
  • Triage and troubleshoot Oracle and MS Access issues
  • Help users build and configure databases
  • Work ServiceNow tickets and RFCs within SLAs
  • Monitor systems with Idera and SolarWinds and tune alerts
  • Contribute to weekly activity reports

What you need:
  • 4+ years of database administration experience, primarily Oracle
  • Experience with RMAN, PL/SQL, and Oracle Grid
  • Exposure to SQL Server, PostgreSQL, MySQL, MariaDB, and MS Access
  • Experience creating and managing standalone Oracle databases
  • Solid scripting and automation skills

Preferred:
  • Oracle certification (OCA or OCP)
  • Federal support experience
