DevOps Solution Architect

DevOps Solution Architect Contract Length: 6-12+ months

Location: Dallas, Texas (hybrid 3 days onsite) ****LOCAL CANDIDATES ONLY****

We are seeking an experienced DevOps Solution Architect to guide application delivery architecture, CI/CD engineering, and DevSecOps practices across enterprise application teams. This role will define reusable delivery patterns, improve automation and deployment reliability, and help engineering teams effectively leverage enterprise platforms and security capabilities. The ideal candidate combines strong technical expertise with an application-focused architecture mindset and can collaborate across software engineering, cybersecurity, and platform teams.

Requirements

• Significant experience in DevOps, DevSecOps, software engineering, cloud engineering, or platform engineering, with architecture or senior technical leadership experience
• Strong understanding of CI/CD architecture, Git workflows, pipeline design, build automation, and deployment strategies
• Hands-on experience with GitLab CI/CD, including reusable pipelines, templates, runners, and release workflows
• Strong knowledge of containers, Kubernetes and/or Red Hat OpenShift, Infrastructure as Code, and configuration automation
• Experience integrating automated testing, security scanning, quality gates, and governance controls into CI/CD pipelines
• Familiarity with Terraform, Ansible, Helm, Argo CD, JFrog Artifactory/Xray, and cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, Google Cloud Platform, or IBM Cloud
• Understanding of secrets management, identity and access controls, artifact repositories, container registries, and software supply-chain security
• Knowledge of application architecture, monitoring, observability, reliability engineering, and production readiness
• Ability to troubleshoot complex technical issues and influence decisions across engineering, security, and platform teams
• Strong communication, collaboration, and technical leadership skills

Duties

• Define application-level DevOps and DevSecOps architecture patterns, standards, and reusable CI/CD solutions
• Design and improve pipelines covering source control, builds, automated testing, security scanning, artifact management, and releases
• Guide teams on GitLab CI/CD implementation, pipeline performance, troubleshooting, and maintainability
• Establish deployment strategies, including rolling, blue/green, and canary releases, automated rollback, and environment promotion
• Provide architecture guidance for containerized applications on Kubernetes and OpenShift, including deployment configuration, Helm, scaling, and health checks
• Establish patterns for Infrastructure as Code, configuration automation, and GitOps where appropriate
• Integrate security controls and vulnerability scanning into delivery workflows while promoting secure secrets management and artifact integrity
• Ensure application delivery solutions incorporate monitoring, alerting, automated validation, and operational readiness
• Partner with application engineering, cybersecurity, cloud infrastructure, and platform teams to identify capability gaps and recommend solutions
• Conduct architecture reviews, develop technical guidance, and help engineering teams improve automation, security, reliability, and developer experience
