About the RoleWe're seeking a highly skilled
Excel/VBA Developer to support new development within an Asset Reconciliation team. This consultant will build
custom, automated reconciliation macros that ingest files, map data fields, and perform securities, cash, and banking reconciliations. This is
new development, not maintenance-ideal for someone who enjoys building tools from the ground up.
Responsibilities- Develop advanced Excel VBA macros to automate file ingestion, data parsing, and transformation.
- Build reconciliation logic and matching algorithms for transactions, cash, securities, and other financial data.
- Work with various delimited file formats (pipe, CSV, custom formats) and convert them into structured datasets.
- Design clean, reliable, scalable Excel-based solutions with strong error handling and usability in mind.
- Collaborate with team members to understand requirements and deliver high-quality automated tools.
Required Skills & Experience- Expert-level Excel VBA macro development, with examples of 2-3 previous automation projects.
- Experience parsing pipe-delimited or other complex delimited files.
- Hands-on experience building reconciliation logic-transaction matching, ledger vs. feed reconciliation, exception handling, etc.
- Strong Excel fundamentals: tables, named ranges, form controls, error handling, and optimized formulas.
- Ability to work within the expected timeline and be available in/near one of the listed locations if needed.
- Must have valid work authorization.
Nice-to-Haves- Power Query or Power Pivot experience.
- Exposure to automation best practices: error logging, unit testing, version control concepts.
- Basic SQL or experience pulling/mapping data from databases.
- Background in financial services or reconciliation teams.
