Job Title: Sr AS400 Developer
Location: Hybrid - King of Prussia, PA (4 days onsite/1 day remote)

Job Type: Independent Contract (Contractor / Non-Employee)
Start Date: ASAP

Pay Rate: $68-70/hr 1099 / C2C

Contract Length: 12+ Months

Role Summary

We are seeking an experienced Senior .NET Developer with strong technical expertise and demonstrated leadership capabilities to lead a team of developers while remaining actively involved in software design, development, and delivery. The ideal candidate will be a hands-on technical leader who can drive architectural decisions, mentor team members, and collaborate with business stakeholders to deliver high-quality enterprise applications.

Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities

Technical Leadership
  • Lead the design, development, and deployment of scalable .NET applications and services.
  • Define and enforce software development standards, best practices, and coding guidelines.
  • Conduct code reviews and provide constructive feedback to development team members.
  • Evaluate and recommend technologies, frameworks, and tools that support business objectives.
  • Drive application architecture, performance optimization, and security initiatives.

Team Management
  • Manage, mentor, and develop a team of software developers.
  • Assign and prioritize workload to ensure project milestones are achieved.
  • Support hiring efforts, including interviewing, onboarding, and performance evaluations.
  • Foster a collaborative, high-performing, and accountable team culture.
  • Provide technical coaching and career development guidance.

Software Development
  • Design, build, test, and maintain enterprise-grade applications using Microsoft technologies.
  • Develop RESTful APIs, web applications, and backend services.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues.
  • Participate in Agile ceremonies, sprint planning, and release management activities.
  • Collaborate with QA, DevOps, Product Owners, and business stakeholders throughout the software development lifecycle.


Qualifications

Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 8+ years of professional software development experience using Microsoft technologies.
  • 3+ years of experience leading, mentoring, or managing development teams.
  • Strong experience with:
    • C#
    • .NET Framework and .NET Core/.NET 8+
    • ASP.NET MVC and ASP.NET Core
    • REST API development
    • SQL Server and database design
    • Entity Framework
    • Azure cloud services
    • Git source control
  • Experience with Agile/Scrum software development methodologies.
  • Strong understanding of software architecture, design patterns, and best practices.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with Azure DevOps and CI/CD pipelines.
  • Experience with containerization technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes.
  • Knowledge of microservices architecture.
  • Experience with front-end frameworks such as Angular, React, or Vue.js.
  • Experience in cloud-native development and modern application modernization initiatives.
  • Microsoft Azure certifications are a plus.

Pay Range

USD $68.00 - USD $70.00 /Hr.
