Qualifications/Requirements:
Join the VC-25B program (AFLCMC/WVB) as an Avionics Engineer and play a key role in delivering the next Air Force One. In this position, you will help drive design integration, testing, and requirements verification for this critical ACAT 1 program. This position sits at a critical juncture as the program stands on the cusp of transitioning into active developmental testing and airworthiness determination. You will immediately guide the integration and testing of flight deck subsystems, collaborating closely on-site with contractor teams, government personnel, and the user community to prepare for and execute these upcoming test phases. Your primary mission is to provide technical oversight, ensuring the aircraft's avionics architecture is airworthy and ready for flight.
Key Responsibilities:
Technical Oversight: Oversee and verify flight-deck avionics requirements and witness specification verification.
Airworthiness Audits: Conduct technical reviews of compliance artifacts and perform Physical Configuration Audits (PCA) on the aircraft.
Obsolescence Management: Proactively assess engineering solutions to mitigate technical and schedule risks associated with component obsolescence.
Required Qualifications Competencies:
Avionics integration experience
Demonstrated expertise in Communication, Navigation, and Surveillance / Air Traffic Management (CNS/ATM) and Navigation/Air Data Systems on commercial, commercial-derivative, or military aircraft.
Security Clearance: Must currently possess or be able to obtain a security clearance commensurate with the position's sensitivity.
U.S. Citizenship
B.S. in engineering or related field.
This position is covered by the Acquisition Professional Development Program (APDP). The selectee must meet or be capable of achieving the APDP certification as designated on the position description within the defined grace period for that certification level after assignment.
This position also requires the employee to engage in acquisition continuous learning activities achieving 80 Continuous Learning points every 24 months.
