Summary

SUMMARY

The Process Improvement Healthcare Engineer will advance patient safety and quality improvement initiatives across Johns Hopkins Medicine. Using systems engineering methodologies-including Lean, Six Sigma, predictive modeling, and simulation-the role will partner with clinical and operational subject matter experts to identify trends, analyze root causes, and uncover opportunities to improve workflow efficiency and effectiveness. This position will translate complex data into actionable recommendations and implementation plans that support improved patient outcomes and organizational performance.

Education & Work Experience:
  • Bachelor's degree in systems engineering, other engineering or applied science discipline, applied mathematics, computer or data science, or other similar technical field AND five (5)+ years of relevant experience -OR-
  • Master's degree or PhD in systems engineering, other engineering or applied science discipline, applied
    mathematics, computer or data science, or other similar technical field AND three (3)+ years of relevant experience.
  • Additional training in systems engineering, data analysis, quality assurance, technical management, and process improvement preferred.

Required Licensure, Certification, on-going Training:
  • INCOSE or other systems engineering and computer science-related certifications preferred, but not required.
  • Lean Sigma Black Belt certification strongly preferred.

Salary Range: Minimum 49.01/hour - Maximum 78.43/hour. Compensation will be commensurate with equity and experience for roles of similar scope and responsibility. In cases where the range is displayed as a $0 amount, salary discussions will occur during candidate screening calls, before any subsequent compensation discussion is held between the candidate and any hiring authority.
