Job Description

BryceTech is seeking an Engineer / Scientist to provide scientific, engineering, and technical support to the Air Force Research Laboratory (AFRL) Space Warfare Directorate (AFRL/RJ) and Information and Spectrum Warfare Directorate (AFRL/RF) under the JUPITER contract. The Engineer / Scientist will support government scientists, engineers, program managers, and technical leadership across a diverse portfolio of research, development, experimentation, and technology transition activities.

The successful candidate will apply engineering or scientific principles to technical analyses, research activities, technology assessments, and program support. This position will work as part of multidisciplinary teams to evaluate technical challenges, support the development and assessment of emerging technologies, and communicate technical findings to government customers.

Responsibilities

Provide engineering and scientific support to AFRL research, development, experimentation, and technology transition activities

Conduct technical research, analysis, studies, and assessments in support of government engineering and science programs

Assist in evaluating emerging technologies, technical approaches, architectures, designs, and system concepts

Support the development, testing, demonstration, integration, and transition of advanced technologies and capabilities

Collect, analyze, and synthesize technical information from government, industry, academic, and other sources

Assist senior engineers and scientists in identifying technical risks, issues, dependencies, and opportunities

Develop technical documentation, reports, briefings, presentations, and other program deliverables

Participate in technical interchange meetings, design reviews, program reviews, demonstrations, experiments, and other technical forums

Collaborate with government personnel, contractors, industry partners, and other technical stakeholders to support program objectives

Apply engineering and scientific methods to solve technical problems and develop recommendations

Support technical planning, requirements development, technology roadmapping, and related program activities

Track technical activities and provide status updates, findings, and recommendations to government and contractor leadership

Support the evaluation of technology maturity, performance, feasibility, and transition potential

Translate technical information into clear written and verbal communications appropriate for both technical and non-technical audiences

Maintain awareness of developments in relevant scientific, engineering, and technology fields

Perform other related engineering, scientific, and technical support duties in support of the JUPITER mission

Qualifications

Required Qualifications

Active TS/SCI clearance

Bachelor's degree in engineering, physical science, computer science, mathematics, or a related technical discipline

5+ years of relevant experience in engineering, scientific research, technology development, systems engineering, or a related technical field

Experience conducting technical analysis, research, engineering support, or scientific work on complex programs

Experience working in aerospace, defense, space, research and development, advanced technology, or another technically complex environment

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

Ability to organize, analyze, and communicate technical information effectively

Strong written and verbal communication skills

Ability to work independently while also contributing effectively to multidisciplinary teams

Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint

Ability to interact professionally with government customers, engineers, scientists, program managers, and other stakeholders

Ability to work on-site at Kirtland Air Force Base in Albuquerque, NM, as required by the program

Preferred Qualifications

Master's degree in engineering, physical science, computer science, mathematics, or a related technical discipline

Experience supporting AFRL, U.S. Space Force, Department of the Air Force, Department of Defense, or other government research and development organizations

Experience in space systems, satellite systems, space domain awareness, propulsion, sensors, directed energy, information systems, communications, C4I, or related technical areas

Experience supporting technology maturation, experimentation, demonstration, or transition activities

Familiarity with systems engineering principles and processes

Familiarity with Department of Defense research, development, acquisition, and technology transition processes
