Job Title: EPIC Claim Analyst
Location: Newark, NJ
Duration: 6 months
Roles & Responsibilities:
1. Works closely with financial, IT, and Revenue Cycle teams to optimize Epic programming, configuration, and workflows for claims and remittance.
2. Identifies issues that arise in assigned application area as well as issues that impact other application teams.
3. Provides subject matter expertise to ensure claims are submitted timely/accurately and remittances are posted timely/accurately.
4. Proactively works with third party vendors such as claims/remittance clearinghouse and bank.
5. Leads workflow design discussions, building and testing the system and analyzing associated issues.
6. Reviews the status of deliverables, issues, and milestones with leadership.
7. Helps educate financial, IT, and Revenue Cycle teams on best practices within Epic.
8. Serves as a liaison between end users workflow needs and Epic implementation staff.
9. Reviews system upgrade related notes and participate in new build and testing, as necessary, related to upgrades.
10. Exhibits solid knowledge of the revenue cycle workflows within claims and remittance.
11. Documents, communicates, and assists in problem determination and resolution.
12. Independently interacts with Operational leadership, end users, vendors, and other related areas to gather requirements and compile data.
13. Participates on specific committees. Leads and/or participates on project committees.
14. Promotes system security and the confidentiality of all information related to patients, medical staff, employees and business issues.
15. Understands and adheres to University Hospital s compliance standards as they appear in University Hospital's Corporate Compliance Policy, Code of Conduct and Conflict of Interest Policy.
16. Keeps abreast of all pertinent federal, state and University Hospital regulations, laws, and policies as they presently exist and as they change or are modified.
17. Performs other related duties as assigned.
