Summary
Job Title: Information Security Analyst
Duration: 12 Months+
Location: Remote
Role Summary
The Information Security Analyst will support security, risk, and compliance activities for enterprise and government systems within the Agency of Digital Services and Department of Mental Health. The role focuses on regulatory compliance, security assessments, documentation, and collaboration with technical and business stakeholders.
Education
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Cybersecurity, or a related technical discipline.
Required Certification
HIPAA Privacy and Security Awareness Training with documented proof of completion.
Mandatory Requirements
Security Framework Experience
- Experience working within at least one recognized security framework, including:
- NIST
- CMS ARC-AMPE
- IRS Publication 1075
Security Domain Experience
- Experience in at least two of the following domains:
- Security and Risk Management
- Security Architecture and Engineering
- Communications and Network Security
- Security Assessment and Testing
- Security Operations
Core Experience
- Performing risk assessments, security control evaluations, and compliance gap analyses for enterprise or government systems.
- Supporting regulatory compliance and audit activities, including preparation of documentation and evidence for internal and external assessments.
- Developing, reviewing, and maintaining security documentation, including:
- System Security Plans (SSPs)
- Plans of Action and Milestones (POA&Ms)
- Security policies, standards, and procedures
- Reviewing and providing security and compliance feedback on vendor and third-party artifacts, including SOC reports, security attestations, and penetration test results.
- Collaborating with IT, security, and business stakeholders to address compliance requirements, remediation efforts, and risk mitigation activities.
Preferred Skills and Experience
- Tracking corrective actions and risk mitigation activities through closure.
- Supporting security operations, including analysis and resolution of security-related issues and incidents.
- Supporting incident response activities, including investigation and documentation, in coordination with State security teams.
- Implementing and maintaining security controls to protect data, systems, and infrastructure.
- Identifying system and network vulnerabilities through assessments, testing, and scan analysis.
- Evaluating organizational security needs and contributing to security best practices and standards.
- Supporting change management activities related to security controls and remediation.
- Performing routine security operations tasks, including administrative work, reporting, and coordination.
- Using State-provided tools and environments, including Microsoft Office and work tracking systems such as Azure DevOps or equivalent.
