Summary
Rate Range: $40/hour to $60/hour; The rate may be negotiable based on experience, education, geographic location, and other factors.
Mechanical Engineer job responsibilities include:
- Support electro?mechanical design activities from concept through production release for power electronics equipment involving PCAs, magnetics, semiconductors, heat sinks, wiring, and enclosures.
- Perform engineering computations, write technical specifications, and update mechanical drawings as needed.
- Assist with mechanical engineering analysis including stress, vibration, and thermal considerations.
- Review and verify completed work, ensuring correct dimensions, material specifications, and quantities.
- Collaborate with cross?functional teams-including electrical, manufacturing, and reliability-to optimize designs.
- Conduct hands?on testing, troubleshooting, and validation of mechanical assemblies.
- Provide production support during build, integration, and manufacturing activities.
Desired Qualifications:
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or an equivalent technical field.
- 2-5 years of experience with electro?mechanical packaging, electronic assemblies, and sheet?metal mechanical design.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Proficiency with SolidWorks and 3D CAD modeling, including tolerance analysis and documentation.
- Knowledge of fabrication methods such as sheet?metal manufacturing, machining, and injection molding.
- Experience with FEA/FEM tools for mechanical stress, vibration, and thermal analysis.
- Competency in thermal design involving power devices, magnetics, fans, airflow, and (optionally) liquid cooling.
- Understanding of materials, plating, corrosion?resistant design, and industry?standard mechanical packaging practices.
- Experience applying DFM (Design for Manufacturability) and DFA (Design Failure Analysis) principles.
- Familiarity with environmental analysis (temperature, humidity, shock, vibration).
- Ability to interpret Gerber files and work with PCB?related design constraints.

Pay Details: $40.00 to $60.00 per hour
