Summary

Schaeffler is a dynamic global technology company and its success has been a result of its entrepreneurial spirit and long history of private ownership. As a partner to all of the major automobile manufacturers, as well as key players in the aerospace and industrial sectors, we offer you many development opportunities.

Your Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct magnetic material characterization activities required to develop competitive products.
  • Understand the structure of the mechanical system from the architecture and consider the measures from the risk analysis in the construction.
  • Break down structures into subsystems and components and create a detailed product specification.
  • Check whether existing subsystems and components can be reused.
  • Develop alternative structures and select the one that is most suitable.
  • Ensure double-sided traceability with the mechanical architecture and provide work results under a configuration management (material designation, versioning, storage location, etc.).
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with engineering teams.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Adhere to and promote compliance with all relevant safety standards, environmental regulations, and company policies throughout the engineering process.

Your Qualifications

  • Possess a minimum of a Bachelor's degree in Engineering, preferably in Mechanical, Chemical, or Material Science disciplines; candidates with a Master's degree or PhD will be given preference due to advanced expertise.
  • Demonstrate 3 to 5 years of professional experience in materials engineering, with a strong emphasis on magnetic materials and their applications in mechanical systems.
  • Exhibit hands-on laboratory experience, showcasing proficiency in operating and interpreting results from advanced lab equipment such as Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM), Thermogravimetric Analysis (TGA), Differential Scanning Calorimetry (DSC), Fourier-Transform Infrared Spectroscopy (FTIR), and Inductively Coupled Plasma (ICP) instruments.
  • Showcase a solid understanding of material characterization techniques relevant to magnetic materials, including microstructural analysis, thermal behavior, and chemical composition assessments.
  • Possess excellent analytical skills with the ability to draw meaningful conclusions from complex data sets and translate these insights into actionable engineering solutions.
  • Effective communication skills to facilitate collaboration across multidisciplinary teams, document technical findings clearly, and support stakeholder engagement.
  • Must have legal authorization to work in the United States without requiring employment visa sponsorship.

We look forward to your application.
