Software Engineer in Test

Job Summary We are seeking an experienced Software Engineer in Test (SET) to join an Agile Data Engineering team responsible for validating the integrity, quality, and performance of enterprise data platforms. This role combines Quality Engineering, automation, software development, data engineering, and DevOps responsibilities to support cloud-based data solutions. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in test automation, data pipeline validation, SQL, Java, Python, and modern Big Data technologies while contributing to the design and implementation of scalable QA automation frameworks. Key Responsibilities Design, develop, and maintain automated testing frameworks for enterprise data platforms and applications. Build end-to-end test strategies for data pipelines, data warehouses, and cloud-based data solutions. Validate the quality, integrity, performance, and reliability of data pipelines and reporting solutions. Develop and execute automated test cases for RESTful APIs and enterprise applications. Perform functional, integration, regression, performance, and data validation testing. Collaborate with Agile teams throughout the software development lifecycle, including analysis, design, development, testing, and deployment. Participate in sprint planning, story estimation, backlog refinement, and other Agile ceremonies. Support CI/CD pipelines and DevOps initiatives to improve software delivery and quality. Work with Data Engineering teams to validate ETL processes, Data Lakes, and Data Warehouse solutions. Develop automated tests using Java, Python, SQL, and industry-standard automation frameworks. Collaborate with developers, product owners, and business stakeholders to ensure quality objectives are achieved. Identify opportunities to improve testing processes, automation coverage, and engineering best practices. Ensure testing activities comply with organizational quality standards and audit requirements. Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and promote Quality Engineering innovation across teams. Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field. 5+ years of software development or equivalent professional experience. 6+ years of Software Quality Assurance or Quality Engineering experience. 2+ years of experience working with Big Data, Data Lakes, or Data Warehouse technologies. Expert knowledge of software development methodologies, Quality Assurance principles, and Agile practices. Strong experience developing automated tests for RESTful APIs. Hands-on experience with test automation frameworks and tools, including: Cucumber JUnit Selenium RestAssured Git Gradle Maven Strong programming experience with Java and Python. Advanced SQL development and data validation skills. Experience with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices. Experience working with Big Data and cloud technologies, including: Snowflake Apache Airflow AWS Microsoft Azure Experience with enterprise reporting and Business Intelligence tools, including: OBIEE Tableau Power BI Experience testing ETL processes and Data Warehouse platforms. Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills. Ability to work effectively within Agile Scrum teams and cross-functional environments. Preferred Qualifications Experience in retirement plan administration or financial services. Experience testing enterprise data pipelines. Experience using iCEDQ or similar data quality testing tools. Experience developing enterprise QA automation frameworks. Knowledge of audit compliance and software quality governance. Passion for continuous improvement and Quality Engineering innovation. Certifications ISTQB (International Software Testing Qualifications Board) Certification Preferred. Education: Bachelors Degree
