Job Overview: We are seeking an experienced Database Administrator with advanced expertise in PostgreSQL and some exposure to MongoDB. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in database architecture, design, development, and optimization, as well as hands-on experience with cloud-native database solutions. This role involves leading technical initiatives, ensuring optimal database performance, and guiding migration strategies across complex environments. The position requires a deep understanding of PostgreSQL and MongoDB systems, AWS ecosystem automation tools, and best practices for high availability, security, and compliance.
Responsibilities: - Design, develop, implement, and maintain database systems to support business needs.
- Optimize PostgreSQL and MongoDB databases for scalability, reliability, and performance.
- Apply advanced knowledge of database architecture, including query planning, indexing, partitioning, and replication.
- Establish and enforce best practices for database design, normalization, and data integrity.
- Deploy and manage PostgreSQL and MongoDB clusters with a focus on high availability and disaster recovery strategies.
- Utilize AWS storage management and monitoring tools to ensure optimal database health and performance.
- Monitor and tune database performance, including query optimization and resource allocation.
- Perform regular backup and recovery operations, ensuring data integrity and compliance with security standards.
- Lead end-to-end database migration projects, ensuring minimal downtime and data integrity verification.
- Mentor and guide junior database engineers and developers.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align database strategies with business objectives.
- Document technical solutions, operational procedures, and best practices for ongoing reference.
Qualifications: - Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- 8+ years of hands-on experience with PostgreSQL and MongoDB database systems, with at least 2+ years in a technical leadership capacity.
- In-depth understanding of PostgreSQL and MongoDB architecture, including query optimization, indexing, and partitioning.
- Proven experience designing, developing, and optimizing databases for high performance and reliability.
- Extensive experience with AWS, including management, monitoring, high availability, and global databases.
- Familiarity with AWS automation tools such as CloudFormation and Terraform for infrastructure management.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills in database environments.
- Demonstrated experience with database administration: performance monitoring, backup/recovery, tuning, query optimization, data integrity, security, compliance, and access management.
- Successful track record of planning and executing database migrations.
Preferred Qualifications: - Professional certifications in PostgreSQL, MongoDB, or AWS.
- Experience migrating databases from legacy systems to cloud-native solutions.
- Knowledge of additional AWS services (e.g., Lambda, EC2, S3) and their integration with database platforms.
- Experience implementing database automation and infrastructure as code practices.

Pay Range: $75.00 - $80.00
