Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Senior Business Analyst – Reinsurance with deep expertise in Treaty and Facultative Reinsurance and a foundational understanding of AI / GenAI transformation initiatives. The ideal candidate will partner with underwriting, actuarial, claims, and technology teams to drive strategic transformation programs across a global reinsurance environment.
This role requires strong business analysis capabilities, reinsurance domain expertise, stakeholder management, and experience supporting data-driven and digital transformation initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
Business & Functional Analysis
- Gather, analyze, and document business requirements across:
- Treaty Reinsurance (P&C and Specialty Lines)
- Facultative Reinsurance Processes
- Claims and Loss Reserving Workflows
- Create and manage:
- BRDs / FRDs
- User Stories & Acceptance Criteria
- Process Flows (L2/L3)
- Translate business requirements into functional specifications for technology teams.
Reinsurance Domain Expertise
- Support end-to-end reinsurance operations including:
- Underwriting & Risk Assessment
- Pricing & Actuarial Inputs
- Bordereaux Management
- Exposure Tracking
- Claims Lifecycle & Recoveries
- Work closely with underwriting and actuarial teams to improve:
- Combined Ratios
- Portfolio Visibility
- Profitability Metrics
- Catastrophe Risk Analysis
Data, Analytics & AI Enablement
- Define requirements for:
- Exposure Data Ingestion
- Claims & Catastrophe Data Models
- Portfolio Analytics Dashboards
- Collaborate with Data & AI teams to support:
- Predictive Analytics
- Loss Forecasting
- Reserving Models
- AI / GenAI-based Underwriting & Claims Use Cases
- Ensure alignment with enterprise data governance and architecture standards.
Technology & Platform Integration
- Support implementation/enhancement of:
- Guidewire Reinsurance
- SICS
- Duck Creek
- Custom Reinsurance Platforms
- Participate in:
- API & Interface Definition
- System Integration
- Cloud/Data Platform Initiatives
- Coordinate integration across underwriting, claims, actuarial, finance, and data systems.
Transformation & Change Management
- Support enterprise transformation programs involving:
- Operating Model Redesign
- Process Automation
- Digitization Initiatives
- AI / GenAI Adoption
- Drive:
- Impact Assessments
- Stakeholder Alignment
- UAT Coordination
- Rollout & Change Support
Regulatory & Compliance
- Ensure compliance with:
- Solvency & Regulatory Reporting Requirements
- Data Governance Policies
- Audit & Compliance Standards
- Support audit readiness and documentation activities.
Required Qualifications
- 20+ years of experience in Insurance/Reinsurance Business Analysis
- Strong expertise in:
- Treaty Reinsurance
- Facultative Reinsurance
- P&C and Specialty Lines
- Proven experience with:
- Requirements Gathering
- BRD / FRD Documentation
- Agile / Scrum Delivery
- Process Mapping & Optimization
- Strong stakeholder management experience working with:
- Underwriting Teams
- Actuarial Teams
- Claims Teams
