Job Description
The South Carolina Department of Revenue is seeking an experienced Network Engineer to design, implement, and maintain VMware and network infrastructure solutions. The role involves virtualization administration, infrastructure monitoring, troubleshooting, capacity planning, and disaster recovery support.
Key Responsibilities
Design, configure, and maintain VMware and enterprise infrastructure.
Administer VMware ESX environments and support SAN-related issues.
Monitor system performance, troubleshoot issues, and implement upgrades.
Support disaster recovery, failover, and infrastructure security initiatives.
Develop technical documentation and support procedures.
Collaborate with IT teams and stakeholders to resolve technical issues.
Participate in a shared 24/7 on-call rotation.

Required Skills
13+ years of overall IT experience.
6+ years of state government experience.
VMware VCP certification required.
5+ years of VMware experience or equivalent.
8+ years of enterprise SAN and VMware troubleshooting experience.
8+ years of VMware ESX administration.
Experience in infrastructure capacity planning.
Bachelor's degree in IT, Computer Science, or a related field.

Preferred Skills
Knowledge of NIST, PCI, IRS Publication 1075, and change management.
PowerShell scripting experience.
Strong knowledge of Windows Server 2012, 2016, and 2019.
Understanding of TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, and network hardware.
Excellent troubleshooting, communication, and customer service skills.
