Corporate Communications Specialist with branding and storytelling skills- must multi task with multiple projects going on- non profit experience a plus

 

We are looking for a Corporate Communications Contractor to support our Corporate Communications team in advancing employer brand, strengthening employee communications, and enhancing crisis communications preparedness and response efforts. This role will develop compelling content, support communication campaigns and projects, help execute enterprise-wide communications initiatives, and contribute to storytelling that reinforces company’ mission, values, and strategic priorities.

Working closely with Communications, Human Resources, and other stakeholders, the contractor will help create engaging experiences and communications that strengthen employee engagement, understanding of organizational priorities, protect organizational reputation

 

Key Responsibilities

Employee Communications

  • Draft and edit internal communications content, including announcements, intranet articles, employee toolkits, presentations, and talking points.
  • Support the planning and execution of communications campaigns that reinforce organizational priorities, strategic initiatives, and culture-building efforts.
  • Maintain and contribute to editorial calendars that align communications activities with enterprise priorities.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders across company to ensure messaging is clear, consistent, timely, and aligned with the  brand.
  • Assist with the development and execution of employee engagement initiatives, events, and communications programs.
  • Host a bi-monthly People Leaders Forum for all people leaders to share enterprise-wide updates, reinforce priorities, and foster alignment; 
  • Develop messaging and toolkits that enable leaders to communicate enterprise decisions and priorities consistently with their teams. 
  • Monitor communications performance metrics and provide recommendations to improve engagement, reach, and effectiveness.

 

Crisis Communications and Preparedness

  • Support the maintenance and continuous improvement of crisis communications plans, tools, and resources.
  • Assist in the improvement of crisis communications materials, response templates, and preparedness resources.
  • Contribute to tabletop exercises, training activities, and post-event reviews to strengthen organizational readiness.
  • Support rapid-response communication efforts during incidents and business disruptions, helping coordinate messaging across stakeholders and communication channels.
  • Help document lessons learned and recommendations following exercises and response activities.

Employer Brand Storytelling and Content Development

  • Support the development and execution of employer brand and employee value proposition (EVP) initiatives.
  • Research, write, and edit employee stories, profiles, articles, and other content that highlight culture, values, and employee experiences.
  • Develop content for careers pages, recruitment campaigns, and internal communications channels.
  • Partner with Human Resources and Corporate Communications to identify storytelling opportunities that support talent attraction, retention, and engagement goals.
  • Elevate employee voices through interviews, testimonials, and storytelling campaigns that demonstrate the impact of ACS’ mission and culture.
  • Assist with employer brand measurement and reporting to evaluate content effectiveness and audience engagement.

Team Collaboration and Project Management

  • Partner with cross-functional stakeholders to support enterprise communication objectives and initiatives.
  • Manage multiple communications projects simultaneously while maintaining high standards for quality, accuracy, and timeliness.
  • Identify opportunities to leverage new technologies, AI tools, and innovative communication practices to improve the team’s productivity and effectiveness.
  • Support additional communications-related projects and priorities as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, Marketing, English, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
  • Over three years of experience in corporate communications, employee communications, employer branding, public relations, marketing communications, or related fields.
  • Excellent writing, editing, and storytelling skills with the ability to tailor content for diverse audiences and communication channels.
  • Experience developing engaging content across digital, video, and traditional communication formats.
  • Knowledge of employee communications, employer branding, reputation management, or crisis communications principles.
  • Strong organizational and project management skills with the ability to balance multiple priorities and deadlines.
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively with stakeholders across levels of an organization.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft 365 applications, including Outlook, Teams, SharePoint, PowerPoint, Asana, and related collaboration tools.
  • Experience utilizing AI and emerging technologies to enhance content development, audience engagement, and communications effectiveness is preferred.
