Job Description:
Product Manager, Core Processing Platform

Location: Brookfield, Wisconsin (Onsite)

Role Overview

We are seeking two versatile Product Managers to serve as the primary liaison between Product and Technology. These roles will function as business-side Product Owners, driving delivery for engineering teams within a complex, waterfall-style execution model. The Product Managers will be responsible for maximizing product value by owning and prioritizing the product backlog for internally developed platforms that support Commercial and Financial Institution partners. These positions are critical bridges between business, operations, and technology teams, translating product vision into effective engineering execution.

Key Responsibilities
  • Own, refine, and prioritize the product backlog to align with strategic objectives, regulatory requirements, and business outcomes.
  • Serve as the voice, organizer, and coordinator for engineering teams, ensuring refined features and epics are translated into execution.
  • Define clear user stories and acceptance criteria to ensure alignment across business and technology teams.
  • Balance competing priorities across operational needs, configuration changes, and feature enhancements.
  • Keep engineering teams aligned to the product vision and maintain updated epics as priorities shift.
  • Drive communication across cross-functional teams, including onshore and offshore teams.
  • Partner with delivery teams to remove blockers, optimize workflow, and forecast workstreams.
  • Act as a connector across strategy, operations, and engineering teams.
Required Qualifications

Experience:
  • Demonstrated experience as a self-starter who is autonomous and accountable.
  • Proven ability to work closely with software developers on prioritization in a backend technical environment.
  • Experience with cross-functional coordination, timeline tracking, and follow-through.
  • Strong product management fundamentals and a working knowledge of software development.
  • Working knowledge of mainframe-based systems, including experience in a green screen environment.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • High attention to detail with strong organizational and time-management abilities.
  • Solid technical and analytical aptitude.

Technical Skills:
  • Mainframe
  • Teams
  • SharePoint
  • Backend technical understanding (e.g., COBOL, SQL, or other coding exposure) is valuable.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Background in the Credit Card or Payments industry.
  • Experience developing end-to-end system overviews and documentation to support implementations.
  • Experience with process mapping, workflow diagramming, and operational flows.
  • Familiarity with Change Management and governance processes.
  • Experience with Jira plug-ins such as Dragonboat for tracking and documenting features.
Work Environment

These roles support two newly established engineering teams: one focused on a backend, COBOL-heavy environment and the other on building an internal-only dashboard with a mixed frontend/backend stack (e.g., Java UI, DataDog). The delivery environment operates in a waterfall-style execution model. These positions are expected to be onsite at a company hub 3 days per week in one of the preferred locations: Brookfield, Minneapolis, or Chicago.
