Job Title: Senior DevSecOps Engineer
Location: Remote/Washington DC.
Duration: 12+ Months Contract
 
Position Overview
We are seeking a highly experienced Senior DevOps Engineer / DevSecOps Platform Solutions Architect to design, implement, and optimize enterprise cloud platforms, secure CI/CD pipelines, and automated application deployment processes. The ideal candidate will bring strong hands-on expertise in DevSecOps, Infrastructure as Code (IaC), Kubernetes, cloud infrastructure, and release automation.
This role will focus on building secure, scalable, and reliable platform solutions, integrating security controls into software delivery workflows, and establishing standardized engineering practices across multiple development teams.
 
Key Responsibilities
  • Design, build, and maintain enterprise CI/CD pipelines and automated release workflows.
  • Implement DevSecOps practices by integrating security scanning, compliance checks, and policy enforcement into deployment pipelines.
  • Architect progressive delivery strategies, including canary releases, blue-green deployments, and feature flags.
  • Automate application deployments, rollback procedures, release validation, and recovery processes.
  • Develop reusable Infrastructure as Code (IaC) modules, deployment templates, and standardized provisioning workflows.
  • Implement infrastructure security guardrails and configuration standards across development, testing, staging, and production environments.
  • Engineer and support Kubernetes-based container platforms, including RBAC, Network Policies, resource quotas, and secrets management.
  • Develop and maintain hardened container base images and secure deployment configurations.
  • Establish automated quality gates incorporating functional testing, performance testing, security validation, and release risk controls.
  • Implement automated release evidence collection to support auditability, governance, and compliance requirements.
  • Own platform capabilities throughout their lifecycle, including upgrades, roadmaps, service-level agreements, and continuous improvement.
  • Create Architecture Decision Records (ADRs), technical documentation, and engineering standards.
  • Collaborate with application developers, cloud engineers, cybersecurity teams, and platform stakeholders to improve developer experience and platform reliability.
  
Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Strong hands-on experience designing, implementing, and maintaining enterprise CI/CD pipelines.
  • Demonstrated experience integrating security and compliance controls into automated software delivery workflows.
  • Practical experience with Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform, AWS CloudFormation, Azure Bicep, or equivalent.
  • Hands-on Kubernetes and Docker experience, including Kubernetes RBAC, Network Policies, resource quotas, and container security.
  • Experience with AWS, Microsoft Azure, or comparable enterprise cloud platforms.
  • Knowledge of secure secrets management, hardened container images, and infrastructure security guardrails.
  • Experience implementing automated deployment, application promotion, rollback, and release validation processes.
  • Understanding of canary deployments, blue-green deployments, feature flags, and progressive delivery practices.
  • Experience developing automation scripts using Python, Bash, PowerShell, or similar languages.
  • Ability to establish reusable platform components, engineering standards, and secure deployment practices.
  • Experience documenting technical architecture, design decisions, and platform operating procedures.
  • Strong troubleshooting, analytical, communication, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
  • Ability to work independently in a remote environment and support teams operating in the Eastern Time Zone.
