Summary

Candidates must be Wisconsin residents or willing to relocate to WI at their own expense prior to start.

Role Overview:

This position supports facilities-based IT systems across nearly 200 statewide locations, including secure sites. The role covers surveillance, access control, building automation, and telecommunications systems, along with supporting servers, networks, and security infrastructure. Work is largely independent and requires strong troubleshooting, documentation, and adaptability.

Key Responsibilities:

Design, plan, install, configure, and support:
- Surveillance systems
- Door/access control systems
- Building automation systems
- Telecommunications infrastructure
Support desktop PCs, servers, network devices, storage solutions, and surveillance-specific equipment
Install, configure, maintain, and monitor state-wide networks
Implement and manage web filtering and security using Palo Alto and Zscaler
Troubleshoot and mitigate network, server, and system issues
Create and maintain extensive system documentation
Provide project tracking, management reporting, and input on systems planning
Travel statewide (day travel required); long workdays may be common

Required Experience & Skills:

10+ years of experience in surveillance, network, server, or related IT infrastructure roles
Strong troubleshooting, delegation, and improvisational skills
Ability to work independently across multiple secure locations
Experience supporting complex, distributed environments
Strong documentation and communication skills
High degree of creativity, adaptability, and judgment

Additional Notes:

Work performed across ~200 agency locations statewide
Role involves both tactical execution and strategic input
Independent decision-making and problem-solving are critical
