Job Summary

We are seeking a Lead Systems Analyst with strong expertise in HL7 (v1/v2/v3) to FHIR conversion. The ideal candidate will guide teams in mapping legacy HL7 data to modern FHIR standards, work closely with business stakeholders, and define functional and technical specifications for data integration.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead HL7 to FHIR data conversion and mapping strategy
  • Gather and translate business requirements into functional specifications
  • Create technical artifacts: FRS, RTM, S2T, DED, Data Models
  • Define data handling, storage, and exchange mechanisms
  • Collaborate with development teams (no coding required)
  • Provide SME guidance on interoperability and healthcare data standards
  • Work with stakeholders to design scalable data integration solutions

Required Skills

  • Strong experience with HL7 (v1, v2, v3) and FHIR standards
  • Expertise in data mapping (HL7 FHIR) and interoperability
  • Strong SQL, XML, JSON knowledge
  • Experience in data warehousing, data profiling, data quality, analytics
  • Experience with Ab Initio (preferred but not mandatory)
  • Strong data modeling experience (Postgres, DB2, or similar)
  • Experience creating technical documentation & system design artifacts
  • Strong business analysis and stakeholder communication skills
  • Experience working in complex, multi-vendor environments
  • Knowledge of data governance, lineage, and reference data management

Preferred Skills

  • FHIR Certification
  • Experience with AWS or cloud platforms
  • Healthcare domain knowledge (EHR, HEDIS, etc.)
  • Familiarity with Federal Employee Program (FEP)
  • Master s Degree (optional)

Ideal Candidate Profile

  • 8+ years of IT experience in systems analysis / data analysis / data engineering
  • Strong background in healthcare data interoperability
  • Ability to bridge business and technical teams effectively
  • Excellent communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills
  • Self-driven individual capable of working in a fast-paced environment

Additional Notes

  • No coding required focus is on analysis, mapping, and solution design
  • Project involves building FHIR-based data repository and APIs
  • Strong emphasis on HL7 to FHIR transition expertise and communication skills
