Description
SAP Project Manager to lead 3-4 relatively small projects, focusing on enhancing project management skills within the team and leveraging existing SAP functionality. This role will help drive projects to completion, improve visibility, and enable future scalability for external resources.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide strong project management for SAP initiatives, including planning, milestone tracking, and communication.
Coordinate between business and IT resources, ensuring data readiness and testing.
Drive and lead project progress, proactively addressing potential delays and their impacts.
Facilitate change management and communication for new functionality deployments.
Work with internal teams, including a Director of Customer Operations Technology and a new PMO lead.
Required Skills & Experience:
Approximately 80% Project Management skills, 10% SAP literacy, and 10% Leadership.
SAP literacy: Understanding of SAP terms (e.g., SIR, transport, ABAP, configuration) to effectively communicate with the SAP team.
Experience with SAP ECC 6.
Module experience: Warehouse Management, Sales & Distribution (SD), and Production Planning (PP) / Manufacturing.
Ability to manage multiple small projects concurrently (e.g., warehouse management deployment, batch management conversion, order management functionality).
Experience with \"changing an existing mature system\" (Brownfield/Bluefield) rather than Greenfield implementations.
Adaptability to various project management tools, with a preference for spreadsheets or Smartsheet.
Approximately 5-8 years of experience, focusing on practical project leadership rather than certifications (PMP not required).
Work Environment:
Primarily remote, with potential for occasional travel for team summits if located in the greater Cleveland area.
Collaboration with multi-continental teams (US, Brazil, Spain, Europe, India), primarily within US and European time zones.
No direct SI interaction experience required for this role.
