Job Details

We are seeking a Trusts and Estates Associate to join a well-established private client practice. This role offers an opportunity to work on sophisticated estate planning matters, including complex domestic and international planning strategies. You will be involved in both planning and administration work, with exposure to a diverse and high-level client base.

The position provides meaningful responsibility from the outset, including direct interaction with clients and advisors. You will work closely with experienced attorneys on intricate matters while developing your technical expertise and judgment within a collaborative and supportive environment.

Responsibilities

Draft and implement sophisticated estate planning documents, including wills and various trust structures
Advise clients on estate, gift, and tax planning strategies, including multi-generational wealth transfer
Handle estate and trust administration matters from start to finish
Prepare and review estate, gift, and fiduciary income tax filings
Work directly with individuals and families on complex planning needs
Collaborate with team members on strategy, structuring, and execution of matters

Qualifications

3+ years of experience in trusts and estates or private client work
Strong experience with estate planning, estate and trust administration, and tax compliance
Demonstrated ability to draft sophisticated planning documents
Exposure to high-net-worth client work is preferred
Prior experience with cross-border or international planning is a plus
LL.M. in Taxation or Estate Planning is preferred but not required

Requirements

Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills
Excellent written and verbal communication abilities
Ability to manage multiple matters and meet deadlines
Comfortable interacting directly with clients and advisors
Team-oriented mindset with the ability to work independently when needed
