Job Description:
Pay Range: $25hr - $37hr
  • The Desktop Support Specialist is responsible for configuring, supporting, and maintaining desktop and laptop systems within the organization.
  • This role involves installing standard software, managing hardware inventory, troubleshooting technical issues, and supporting users with desktop applications and systems.
  • The position also ensures proper device deployment, security, and compliance with organizational policies while providing technical support to end users.
Responsibilities:
  • Configure new personal computers with standard software and standard PC guidelines.
  • Utilize imaging software to set up new computers.
  • Update hardware records and notify appropriate personnel of changes to the PC inventory database.
  • Utilize available system tools to support desktop operations.
  • Reimage computers that are redeployed within the organization.
  • Ensure that no data from previous users remains on redeployed systems.
  • Inventory incoming equipment and verify accuracy against purchase orders.
  • Report discrepancies in equipment or orders to the supervisor.
  • Build complex desktop and laptop images.
  • Manage the proper disposal of electronic waste according to company policy.
  • Provide customer support for standard desktop applications, including desktop operating systems and office productivity tools.
  • Refer users to available training resources to assist with problem resolution.
  • Troubleshoot and support desktop hardware including computers, monitors, printers, and network devices.
  • Collaborate with information support teams for hardware troubleshooting and installation activities such as cabling and printer setup.
  • Work with vendor technical support teams to resolve hardware-related issues.
  • Configure and provide temporary equipment to users when immediate resolution is not possible.
  • Coordinate with the service desk to facilitate warranty and non-warranty repairs through third-party vendors.
  • Perform incident management processes as required.
  • Perform tasks related to evaluation, design, installation, configuration, upgrades, testing, documentation, and expansion of desktop and laptop technologies.
  • Monitor system output and analyze trends using productivity and desktop management tools to proactively manage the environment.
Experience:
  • One to three years of previous work experience in a technical support position.
  • Experience supporting Mac operating systems including OSX and IOS devices such as iPhone and iPad.
Skills:
  • Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously with strong organizational skills and minimal supervision.
  • Ability to manage daily problem reports and schedule work requests efficiently to support business operations.
  • Ability to provide direction and support to team members regarding complex technical issues.
Qualification And Education:
  • High School Diploma or GED with a minimum of two years of experience.
  • Valid driver s license required.
  • MCSE certification preferred.
