Job Description
We are seeking an experienced Senior Python Developer with strong hands-on Python development skills and prior experience working with Capital One. The ideal candidate will have a solid background in developing, designing, testing, and maintaining scalable applications, along with experience working in enterprise environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, test, and maintain scalable applications using Python.
- Write clean, reusable, efficient, and maintainable code following development best practices.
- Develop and integrate REST APIs and backend services.
- Work with databases to write and optimize queries and support application data processing.
- Troubleshoot application issues, perform debugging, and implement solutions.
- Participate in code reviews, unit testing, integration testing, and deployment activities.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including developers, architects, QA engineers, and business stakeholders.
- Follow Agile/Scrum methodologies and established software development standards.
- Support application performance optimization, production issue resolution, and continuous improvement.
Required Qualifications
- 11+ years of overall IT experience, with strong hands-on Python development experience.
- Previous experience working with Capital One is mandatory.
- Strong knowledge of Python programming, object-oriented programming, and common design patterns.
- Experience developing RESTful APIs and backend applications.
- Experience with SQL and relational databases.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with AWS cloud services.
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, Docker, and Kubernetes.
- Experience with automated testing frameworks such as PyTest.
- Experience working in financial services or banking environments.
- Knowledge of microservices architecture and distributed systems.
