Senior Cloud Integration Architect

Location: Chicago, IL Hybrid
Introduction:

As a Senior Cloud Integration Architect, you will play a crucial role in defining platform-level approaches for canonical event and data models, integration contracts between systems, and data modeling approaches. You will design Azure-based services for ingestion, processing, and downstream integration, while owning hybrid integration architecture between Azure and on-prem systems. Your expertise in event-driven integration patterns and strong DBMS background will be essential in ensuring successful integration across systems.

Responsibilities:

• Define platform-level approaches for canonical event and data models
• Design Azure-based services for ingestion, processing, and downstream integration
• Own hybrid integration architecture, including networking, security, and deployment patterns between Azure and on-prem systems
• Design event-driven integration patterns using messaging tools
• Produce architecture documentation for governance reviews
• Collaborate with multiple teams to align on integration patterns and resolve gaps
• Contribute hands-on with building services, troubleshooting, and validating integrations

Requirements:

Required Skills:

• Experience designing and delivering distributed, event-driven systems
• Hands-on experience with Kafka, Azure Service Bus, and Azure Event Hubs
• Strong DBMS background in SQL Server, Postgres, Oracle
• Strong experience with Azure services such as Azure Container Apps, AKS, Storage ADLS, Key Vault, and ACR
• Experience defining integration patterns and data models across systems
• Ability to create clear, implementation-ready architecture and design documentation

Preferred Skills:

• Knowledge of Distributed Systems Design
• Experience with Event-Driven Architecture (EDA)
• Experience with Hybrid Cloud Integration (Azure + On-Prem)
• Knowledge of Integration Architecture & Strategy
• Experience with Canonical Data Modeling
• Experience in API & Integration Contracts Design
• Understanding of Data Architecture (Relational + Event-Based + Data Vault)
• Proficiency in monitoring tools such as Application Insights, AKS, SDDs
