About the Role
Barings is looking for a Cloud SRE to help drive a high-priority infrastructure transition tied to the exit of the Dallas Data Center and the migration of disaster recovery (DR) environments. You''ll sit within the Global Technology & Data (GTD) – Infrastructure & IT Operations organization, with a clear mandate: keep US-hosted business applications continuous, resilient, and recoverable throughout and beyond the transition.
This is a contractor engagement focused on hands-on execution — planning, migrating, validating, and operationalizing DR and backup environments while the permanent Cloud Operations team drives parallel strategic initiatives.

What You''ll Do
DR & Infrastructure Migration
- Plan and execute the migration of US disaster recovery and backup environments as part of the Dallas colocation facility exit
- Support the relocation or re-platforming of DR environments for US-hosted applications, databases, and market data services
- Ensure DR architectures meet established recovery objectives and resiliency standards
DR Testing & Validation
- Plan, execute, and document full DR tests for US-hosted business applications
- Validate restore procedures, recovery sequencing, and operational readiness
- Identify gaps and remediation actions to ensure end-to-end recoverability
Cloud & Hybrid Operations
- Support cloud and hybrid infrastructure components tied to backup and disaster recovery
- Partner with Cloud Operations SMEs to operationalize new cloud-based backup solutions
- Execute runbooks and operational procedures aligned to approved designs
Coordination & Documentation
- Work closely with application owners, infrastructure teams, and vendors throughout migration and testing
- Track and communicate progress, risks, and dependencies
- Maintain clear, thorough documentation of environments, procedures, and test outcomes
What You Bring
- Background in Site Reliability Engineering, Cloud Operations, or Infrastructure Reliability
- Hands-on experience with enterprise disaster recovery environments and backup systems
- Solid understanding of DR concepts, resiliency patterns, recovery testing, and infrastructure transitions
- Experience in cloud or hybrid infrastructure environments
- Ability to execute complex, time-bound initiatives within operational and regulatory constraints
Nice to Have
- Experience with colocation exits or data center migrations
- Familiarity with cloud-based backup and recovery platforms
- Exposure to financial services or other regulated industries
- Strong documentation habits and operational discipline
