Job Details

Position Overview:

We are seeking a Florida Licensed Professional Surveyor & Mapper (PSM) to support a growing transportation practice serving public infrastructure clients throughout Florida.

This role will oversee transportation survey projects, provide technical leadership, review survey deliverables, and ensure compliance with FDOT standards and Florida surveying regulations. Candidates with experience in Mobile LiDAR and modern geospatial technologies are highly preferred.

Qualifications:
  • Active Florida Professional Surveyor & Mapper (PSM) license required
  • 0-5+ years of experience after licensure (all experience levels encouraged to apply)
  • Experience performing or managing transportation and roadway survey projects
  • Familiarity with FDOT standards, procedures, and survey requirements
  • Experience reviewing plats, legal descriptions, boundary surveys, right-of-way mapping, and construction staking
  • Working knowledge of survey equipment, GPS, robotic total stations, and data collection technologies
  • Mobile LiDAR experience strongly preferred
  • Experience processing point cloud data is a plus
  • Familiarity with MicroStation, Civil 3D, Trimble Business Center, Leica Cyclone, OpenRoads, or similar software is beneficial
  • Strong communication, leadership, and project management skills
  • Ability to coordinate with engineers, project managers, and public agencies

Preferred Experience:
  • Mobile LiDAR data acquisition or processing
  • Utility corridor or right-of-way surveys
  • Topographic surveys for transportation design
  • Hydrographic or aerial mapping experience
  • QA/QC of survey deliverables
  • Project management and client interaction
  • Experience supporting large FDOT District projects

What You'll Do
  • Lead and oversee transportation surveying projects from planning through final deliverables
  • Ensure compliance with Florida statutes, FDOT standards, and client specifications
  • Review and certify survey documents and mapping products
  • Mentor survey technicians and field crews
  • Coordinate with engineering teams, project managers, and public agency clients
  • Support Mobile LiDAR initiatives and emerging geospatial technologies
  • Maintain project schedules, budgets, and quality standards
  • Build lasting relationships with clients through exceptional service
