Role: Sr. Grafana Observability Consultant
Location: Remote 100%
Duration: 100 hrs Contract
Required Qualifications
Observability delivery experience: 5+ years of experience in observability, monitoring, SRE, DevOps, platform engineering, cloud operations, infrastructure engineering, or application operations roles.
Grafana production experience: 2+ years of hands-on experience implementing, administering, optimizing, and supporting Grafana in production environments.
Dashboard, query, and visualization development: Demonstrated experience building Grafana dashboards, configuring data sources, writing queries, and creating operational visualizations for technical and executive audiences.
Prometheus and Grafana ecosystem proficiency: Strong working knowledge of Prometheus and PromQL, plus experience with at least one additional Grafana ecosystem component such as Loki, Tempo, Mimir, Grafana Alloy, OpenTelemetry Collector, or a comparable telemetry platform.
Alerting and reliability practices: Experience configuring alerting workflows, notification routing, escalation patterns, and alert quality improvements, with familiarity in service health modeling, SLIs, SLOs, error budgets, and service-level reporting concepts.
Cloud, infrastructure, and distributed systems monitoring: Familiarity with monitoring across AWS, Azure, Google Cloud, Kubernetes, OpenShift, Linux, Windows, databases, network services, containerized environments, and complex distributed systems.
Observability concepts and troubleshooting: Strong understanding of metrics, logs, traces, alerting, service health, reliability, incident response, telemetry collection, ingestion, query performance, visualization, and alerting issue resolution.
Automation and infrastructure-as-code: Strong scripting, automation, or infrastructure-as-code skills using one or more of Python, Bash, PowerShell, Terraform, Helm, YAML, Jsonnet, or CI/CD pipelines.
Client-facing technical ownership: Proven ability to own technical workstreams in client-facing delivery environments with limited oversight.
Consulting and stakeholder communication: Excellent consulting soft skills, including clear communication, structured problem-solving, stakeholder management, technical documentation, and the ability to work directly with client engineering and operations teams.
