Job Title: API Architect
Location: Remote – PA (1 week onsite per month in Middletown, PA)
Duration: 12 Months
Work Hours: EST
Preferred Locations: PA, NJ, NY, DE, OH

Job Description:

Seeking an experienced API Architect to design, develop, and govern enterprise API solutions, ensuring secure, scalable, and high-performance system integrations.

Mandatory Skills:

  • Strong experience in API development and architecture.

  • REST, SOAP, and GraphQL APIs.

  • API lifecycle management, versioning, and governance.

  • API security, authentication, and authorization.

  • API Gateway design, routing, rate limiting, and caching.

  • API integration, performance optimization, and monitoring.

  • Technical documentation, architecture diagrams, and design standards.

  • Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams and enterprise stakeholders.

Experience Levels:

  • Junior Architect: 2+ years of API development and architecture.

  • API Architect: 3–7 years of API development and architecture.

  • Senior API Architect: 8+ years of API development and architecture.

Preferred Certifications:

  • Azure API Management.

  • Azure Solutions Architect Expert.

  • Microsoft 365 Developer Associate.

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Management, Information Systems, or equivalent experience.
