Job Description\Overview:
A Kafka Administrator manages Kafka cluster environments, which includes configuring, deploying, monitoring, managing, and supporting the clusters. Confluent Kafka Administration tools are part of the Confluent Platform ecosystem, which helps organizations build and manage event streaming applications using Kafka. These tools can simplify cluster management, improve security, monitor performance, and support efficient data movement.
Primary Skillset:
Kafka admin, Confluent Kafka
Terraform, Git and Kubernetes
AWS cloud.
Secondary Skillset:
Unix & Shell Scripts
Key Roles & Responsibilities:
Design, deploy, and maintain Confluent Cloud Kafka clusters.
Monitor Kafka cluster performance, usage, and overall health.
Configure and fine-tune Kafka parameters to optimize performance.
Deploying resources using terraform in confluent cloud.
Implement security measures to protect Kafka clusters.
Develop automation scripts for routine tasks and monitoring.
Collaborate with other teams to troubleshoot and resolve Kafka-related issues.
Perform capacity planning and expansion of Kafka clusters.
Ensure Kafka clusters are highly available and fault tolerant.
Implement best practices for Kafka cluster management and operations.
Stay updated with the latest Kafka features, enhancements, and best practices.
Qualification:
Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience).
Additional Qualities :
Apache Kafka Administration
Confluent Cloud/Platform Administration
Event Driven Architecture, Event Streaming ( Kafka Preferred), NoSQL DB( Mongo DB Preferred), Devops, CI/CD.
