Responsibilities
This role supports multiple application environments composed of various technologies used to deliver and support business-critical systems. The infrastructure platform enables interaction between internal teams and external partners by supporting reliable, secure, and scalable business processes. The environment is complex and includes the capture, transmission, storage, hosting, retrieval, manipulation, and presentation of critical business data.
The Infrastructure team plays a vital role in maintaining consistent uptime across both non-production and production environments, which directly impacts application development, operational stability, and partner engagement. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, patching and upgrading infrastructure components, maintaining certificates, executing database changes, enhancing and maintaining systems, providing disaster recovery and restorative services, and supporting day-to-day application operations.
Infrastructure Activities
- Certificate renewal and testing
- Internal service account maintenance
- Incident response
- Non-production environment support
- Server and operating system patching
- Middleware patching
- Cloud infrastructure maintenance (AMI updates and miscellaneous upgrades)
- Vulnerability scanning and remediation
- Monitoring and alerting
- On-call support
- Disaster recovery support
Key Responsibilities
- Install, configure, test, and maintain operating systems, application software, and system management tools
- Ensure high levels of system and infrastructure availability
- Monitor and test application performance to identify bottlenecks and implement solutions
- Maintain security, backup, and redundancy strategies
- Write and maintain custom scripts to improve system efficiency and reduce manual intervention
- Participate in the design of information and operational support systems
- Perform security administration for SSO, SAML, and SSL certificates
- Includes coding to support certificate and key deployments in production environments
- Support ongoing software and hardware upgrades and maintenance, including middleware and operating systems
- Technologies may include WebLogic, Tomcat, ESB, IBMi, and AIX
- Support configuration changes and system redesigns
- Including instance creation, repurposing, and modification
- Support internal server account ID lifecycle management
- Includes making code changes as required
- Collaborate closely with cross-functional IT teams
- Including platform, networking, Linux, Unix, and application performance teams
- Support security vulnerability remediation efforts
- Addressing risks identified through third-party tools and penetration testing
- Create and maintain application performance monitoring processes
- Using tools such as Dynatrace and Splunk
- Perform server performance tuning
- Resolve production support and application stability issues
Qualifications
Required
- Strong commitment to incorporating security into daily responsibilities and decision-making
- 5+ years of combined software engineering and infrastructure engineering experience
- Experience with System i (iSeries) environments
- Exposure to Jenkins or other continuous integration tools
Preferred
- Experience with ESB technologies
- Exposure to Unix and Linux environments
- Database experience (e.g., System i, Oracle, MariaDB)
- Experience with Mule development and support
- Cloud experience (AWS preferred)
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field
- Experience working in Agile environments using tools such as JIRA
- Hands-on experience with Splunk
