Job Description
This role supports a large-scale procurement and implementation initiative focused on care management organizations delivering health plan benefits for a statewide healthcare program. The initiative represents a major transformation effort impacting a broad population, with goals of improving health outcomes, wellness, system performance, and operational efficiency.
The organization is also modernizing legacy Medicaid Enterprise Systems into modular, integrated platforms that enable seamless and automated data exchange and business processes. The Project Manager will support procurement and implementation activities for this initiative and work closely with senior leadership, technical teams, and business stakeholders.
The Project Manager will serve in a full-time contract capacity, reporting to a Senior Project Manager, with defined responsibilities and areas of focus. Strong organizational, communication, and leadership skills are essential. Experience managing complex, multi-stakeholder projects particularly in healthcare or government environments is highly desirable.
Work Environment
The contractor should be prepared to work on-site up to two days per week, with occasional in-person meetings at alternate locations within Georgia. Local candidates are required.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Support the Senior Project Manager with assigned project management tasks and follow leadership direction
- Manage multiple project tasks on a day-to-day basis, ensuring alignment with overall program objectives
- Track and report on project success criteria, outcomes, metrics, testing, and deployment activities
- Develop project estimates, schedules, roadmaps, and detailed project plans
- Provide status reporting on milestones, deliverables, dependencies, risks, and issues to leadership and stakeholders
- Identify and manage interdependencies across technology, operations, and business processes
- Coordinate with related enterprise initiatives such as data management, governance, administrative simplification, and automation efforts
- Collaborate with business owners to identify gaps, risks, and areas of concern and document solutions
- Manage project scope, change control, risks, and issues
- Support vendor selection and proposal evaluation processes
- Act as an internal quality assurance checkpoint for project deliverables
- Assist in preparing progress reports, proposals, requirements documentation, presentations, and statements of work
- Ensure projects remain within scope, schedule, budget, and quality standards
- Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications / Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with SDLC methodologies including Agile, Iterative, and Waterfall
- Strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills
- Proven ability to work analytically and creatively in a problem-solving environment
- Ability to manage competing priorities and adapt to change
- Demonstrated success delivering projects on time and within budget
- Experience working independently and in collaborative team environments
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office 365 tools (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio) and Microsoft Project
- Familiarity with project management and SDLC tools
- Ability to conduct research and analysis related to project initiatives

Education & Certifications
- Bachelor s degree in Management, Health Administration, Business Information Systems, Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field (preferred)
- Minimum of 3 years experience managing complex project procurements and implementations
- Project Management Professional (PMP) certification required
