Oracle DBA-GoldenGate Focus - Contract - HYBRID NYC
JOB DESCRIPTION
We are seeking a highly skilled Oracle GoldenGatefocused Oracle DBA Contractor to support missioncritical enterprise data replication, database administration, and cloud integration initiatives. This role centers heavily on GoldenGate engineering, realtime data movement, and highavailability operations across onprem and cloud platforms, including data delivery into Google Cloud Storage (GCS) and BigQuery. The contractor will also support Oracle database environments, contribute to architectural improvements, and participate in a scheduled oncall rotation to ensure 247 system support.
Responsibilities
- Lead the deployment, administration, tuning, and troubleshooting of Oracle GoldenGate (19.x/21.x) in largescale production environments.
- Configure and support GoldenGate Extract, Pump, and Replicat processes for unidirectional and bidirectional replication.
- Design and maintain fullload + CDC data pipelines from Oracle to GCS and into BigQuery, including filebased ingestion (Avro/Parquet/JSON) and MERGE operations.
- Support ZeroDowntime Migration (ZDM) strategies and GoldenGate highavailability architectures.
- Administer Oracle databases (11gR2, 12c, 19c), including Grid Infrastructure, RAC, ASM/ACFS, performance tuning, and production operations.
- Work with ZDLRA (Zero Data Loss Recovery Appliance) for backup, recovery, incrementalforever strategies, and realtime redo transport.
- Analyze performance issues using AWR, ASH, ADDM, trace files, logs, and JVM diagnostics (heap, thread dumps).
- Configure and troubleshoot replication involving Oracle and MS SQL Server.
- Support DR planning and testing across onprem, OCI, and hybrid environments.
- Prepare operational dashboards, metrics, charts, and trend analysis for capacity and performance.
- Collaborate closely with infrastructure, networking, cloud, and application development teams.
- Participate in an oncall rotation for production support during evenings/weekends.
Required Experience
- 5+ years Oracle DBA experience supporting production environments.
- 3+ years handson GoldenGate experience (19.x or 21.x).
- Strong expertise with CDCbased replication and highavailability architectures.
- Experience delivering Oracle GoldenGate data into GCS and BigQuery.
- Experience with ZDLRA, RMAN, and enterprisegrade recovery operations.
- Strong SQL/PLSQL, Linux/UNIX, and performance tuning skills.
- Experience troubleshooting largescale distributed data replication environments.
- Excellent communication, documentation, and incidentresponse skills.
Preferred Skills
- Experience with OCI GoldenGate or cloudmanaged replication services.
- Knowledge of hybrid data architectures involving OnPrem, OCI, and Google Cloud Platform.
- Experience contributing to design discussions and continuous improvement initiatives.
