Job Tittle: Senior ETL QA Engineer

Job Description:

·       An EDW (Enterprise Data Warehouse) QE (Quality Engineer) professional is responsible for ensuring the accuracy, integrity, and quality of data within the data warehouse environment.

·       Their key responsibilities include validating ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) processes using AI tools, verifying source-to-target data mappings, testing data transformations, leveraging AI Copilot, Python and ensuring that reports and dashboards reflect accurate business information.

·       They collaborate closely with data engineers, business analysts, and developers to identify data issues, create comprehensive test plans and test cases, and support defected solution throughout the development lifecycle.

·       Understanding of Bronze/Silver/Gold data arch in platforms (e.g., Databricks, Snowflake, AZURE), data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI).

·       Exposure to AI/ML model validation or testing data pipelines that support machine learning workflows & EDW concepts (snowflake schema, fact/dimension tables) and data quality, profiling, and reconciliation.

Key Responsibilities Requirement:

·       Analysis Participate in data modeling and requirement gathering sessions to ensure testing aligns with business needs Strong understanding of Bronze/Silver/Gold data architecture in modern data platforms(e.g., Databricks, Snowflake, Azure Synapse).

·       Data Validation Perform backend testing to compare data in source systems to target Medicaid Enterprise Data Warehouses (EDW).

·       Verify source-to-target data mapping and transformation logic for Medicaid datasets.

·       Validate data quality, standardization rules, and loading accuracy.

·       SQL & Scripting Write complex SQL queries (including multi-table JOINs, aggregations) to validate ETL outputs against business rules.

·       Conduct row counts, null checks, duplicate checks, referential integrity validation.

·       Test Strategy & Execution Design test plans, test cases, and test scenarios for ETL and data warehouse processes.

·       Document test results and provide detailed feedback to stakeholders, highlighting areas for improvement.

·       Rigorous test case review and approval cycles.

·       Execute manual and automated tests for both full-load and incremental-load cycles.

·       Defect Management Identify, document, and track discrepancies using tools like JIRA, HP ALM, or Azure DevOps Test Plans.

·       Collaborate with ETL developers to resolve defects and perform system test, system integration test, smoke test & regression testing.

·       Automation Develop automated database validation scripts using AI tools (Snowflake AI Cortex), Python, SQL Alchemy, and Pandas.

·       Exposure to AI/ML model validation or testing data pipelines that support machine learning workflows.

·       Integrate automation into CI/CD pipelines in Azure DevOps.

Required Skills Technical Skills:

·       Deep proficiency in SQL and relational database systems (Oracle, SQL Server, PostgreSQL).

·       Healthcare Domain Knowledge: Direct experience with Medicaid systems, HIPAA, claims (837/835), eligibility, provider data, or clinical standards like ICD-9/10, CPT, andHL7.

ETL Knowledge:

·       Strong understanding of EDW and ETL concepts, including Star/Snowflake schema, Slowly Changing Dimensions (SCD1/SCD2), Source to Target Mapping documents, Data Models, Referential Integrity frameworks.

·       Experience invalidating data pipelines and data transformations.

Tools:

Experience with ETL tools (such as Informatica, Talend, SSIS, ADF) and test management tools (Such as Azure DevOps, JIRA, HP ALM).

 Analytical Skills:

Ability to compare datasets, identify root causes of discrepancies, and validate against business rules.

Soft Skills:

·       Excellent communication and collaboration skills; ability to work in Agile/Scrum/Hybrid sprint cycles.

·       Exposure to UAT coordination activities.

Work Experience:

Minimum 5 years of QA/testing experience in data warehouse, ETL or healthcare analytics environments

Education:

Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Systems, Data Analytics, or related field Experience with cloud data platforms (e.g., Snowflake) and familiarity with data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI).

Required AI Skills:

·       AI Builder Persona to leverage approved AI tools to streamline tasks & efficiency.

·       Apply AI-driven insights to support data-informed decision across functional areas

·       Identify opportunities to embed AI into existing processes Copilot, Github

·       All contractor resources are expected to demonstrate baseline proficiency in enterprise-approved AI tools as part of their day-to-day responsibilities.

·       This includes, but is not limited to: - Consistent Use: Maintain a minimum of 90% weekly usage of AI tools such as GitHub Copilot, Microsoft 365 Copilot, Snowflake AI Cortex (AI COMPLETE function) and other GenAI platforms approved by the enterprise.

Applied Productivity:

·       Leverage AI tools to enhance coding, documentation, data analysis, and decision-making workflows.

·       Continuous Learning: Stay current with evolving AI capabilities and features, and apply them to improve delivery quality and velocity.

·       Preferred Qualifications Knowledge of MMIS data warehouse migration and data mart validation.

·       Familiarity with state Medicaid agencies.

·       Python Test Automation and GitHub Code Management tool Snowflake Tool Knowledge.

·       Work Experience 5-7Years.
