The Boeing Global Services (BGS), Large Aircraft Mechanical and Electrical Systems Design Team is seeking a First Line Engineering Manager with a background in Electrical, Structural or Mechanical Analysis and/or Design. This is an exciting and rare opportunity to work on the world's premier military aircraft programs. This role is to lead a team of talented multi-discipline engineers, supporting a variety of US and international aircraft. The successful candidate will be responsible for executing technically complex statements of work, establishing and maintaining strong customer relationships, and be directly accountable for cost, schedule and technical performance.

Position Responsibilities:
  • Manages a team of multi-disciplinary engineers to execute and grow system integrity programs
  • Develops and executes integrated departmental plans, policies and procedures
  • Provides input on departmental business and technical strategies, goals, objectives
  • Acquires resources for department activities, provides technical management of suppliers and leads process improvements
  • Develops and maintains relationships and partnerships with customers, stakeholders, peers, partners and direct reports
  • Provides oversight and approval of technical approaches, products and processes
  • Manages, develops and motivates employees
  • Provides periodic updates to senior management in the form of progress reports, project summaries, and other related documents
  • Must foster an innovative work environment leading to identification of opportunities for improvements in product, process, quality, and productivity

Boeing First-Line Leader Assessment: To be considered for this position you will be required to complete an assessment as part of the selection process. Failure to complete the assessment will remove you from consideration

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills and Experience):
  • Candidates must have at least one year of experience in a leadership role (team leader, temp manager, large scale cross functional project/program management, or formal manager experience) OR have completed the Boeing internal course "Exploring Leadership"
  • 5+ years of experience working in an engineering, engineering technology, or related technical discipline
  • Willing and able to travel up to 15% of the time both domestically and internationally

Preferred Qualification (Desired Skills / Experience):
  • 10+ years of experience working in an engineering, engineering technology, or related technical discipline
  • Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology (including Manufacturing Technology), Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry or non-US equivalent qualifications directly related to the work statement
  • Master degree in Engineering
  • Experience working with the planning & scheduling processes, cost analysis, and EVMS
  • Active Security Clearance (Active means held within the previous 24 months)
  • Experience training and/or mentoring in a technical environment
