Join our dynamic team as a Commissioning Engineer and be at the forefront of ensuring excellence in manufacturing! The Commissioning Engineer - Modular Data Center OEM is responsible for commissioning, testing, and validating prefabricated and modular data center systems within a manufacturing environment. The role ensures that factory-built electrical, mechanical, and control systems meet design intent, customer specifications, and applicable industry standards prior to shipment and site deployment.
What will you do:- Plan, execute, and document commissioning activities for modular data center products.
- Develop and execute Factory Acceptance Test (FAT) plans and procedures.
- Perform functional, integrated, and performance testing of power, cooling, and controls systems.
- Coordinate commissioning schedules with manufacturing, quality, engineering, and project teams.
- Support customer-witnessed FATs and respond to technical inquiries.
- Track deficiencies, lead troubleshooting efforts, and support corrective actions.
- Support Site Acceptance Testing (SAT), start-up, and integration as required.
Systems ScopeElectrical: MV/LV switchgear, UPS systems, battery systems, PDUs, busway, generators, ATS/STS.
Controls & Monitoring: PLC-based control systems, BMS, EPMS, remote monitoring platforms.
OEM & Manufacturing Focus Verify build-to-design compliance for prefabricated modules and skids.
Review drawings, BOMs, and control narratives for commissioning readiness.
Standardize and improve FAT procedures across modular product lines.
Support continuous improvement initiatives within the manufacturing environment.
- Bachelor's degree in electrical, Mechanical, or Controls Engineering, or equivalent experience.
- 5+ years of commissioning experience in modular data centers, OEM manufacturing, or mission-critical facilities.
- Strong understanding of prefabricated data center architectures.
- Ability to read and interpret single-line diagrams, and control schematics.
Preferred Qualifications- Commissioning or mission-critical certification.
- Experience supporting hyperscale or colocation customers.
- Working knowledge of NEC, NFPA 70/70E, IEEE, and IEC standards.
- Experience with PLC logic, alarms, and sequences of operation.
This position operates primarily in an OEM manufacturing facility with exposure to energized equipment. Travel to customer sites may be required for site integration and acceptance testing. Extended hours may be required during critical testing milestones.
