Genesis10 is currently seeking a Senior AI Agentic Engineer for a hybrid position with a Regional Financial Institution located in Columbus, OH. This is a 9-12 month contract opportunity.
Pay Range: $103.00 - $106.00 per hour based on experience Job Overview: This is a senior, production-focused Architect/Engineer role responsible for designing, implementing, and hardening agentic AI solutions that operate safely and reliably in a regulated environment. This position will turn reference patterns into repeatable, production-grade implementations across multiple use cases. The role is accountable for the complete agent lifecycle, from prompt design and RAG integration to deployment and operational readiness.
Primary Responsibilities: - Design and implement production agent workflows using reference patterns: single-agent, supervised multi-agent, and tool-using agents with clear human-in-the-loop decision gates
- Build tool integrations to enterprise services and banking systems (APIs, data products, document services) with strong error handling, authorization boundaries, and audit logging
- Engineer RAG pipelines and retrieval behavior (chunking, embedding selection, re-ranking, context assembly) that meet accuracy and latency targets for the use case
- Implement agent memory and state management patterns that are compliant (retention, access control) and operationally safe (bounded growth, clear reset/forget behaviors)
- Create and maintain evaluation harnesses and regression suites for non-deterministic outputs; define golden datasets and acceptance thresholds per capability
- Implement required guardrails (prompt injection defenses, tool restrictions, output filtering) and pass pre-deployment security gates
- Instrument agents for observability: decision traces, tool-call telemetry, retrieval diagnostics, token/cost metrics, and quality signals suitable for audits and incident response
- Ship via CI/CD with production readiness: feature flags, rollbacks, versioning, and runbooks aligned to Gate requirements
- Lead design and code reviews for agent components; mentor engineers and establish reusable patterns/components across teams
- Debug complex failure modes (hallucinations, retrieval drift, tool misuse, loop behaviors) and implement mitigations (fallback strategies, escalation rules, safe degradation)
- Coordinate on deployment, monitoring, and incident response; contribute to post-incident improvement actions
- Communicate up to the CIO level
Requirements: - 7+ years in software engineering with 2+ years building LLM-enabled applications or agent systems (tool use/function calling, workflow orchestration, or agent frameworks) in production
- Hands-on experience with at least one frontier model platform (Claude, GPT-4+, Gemini) including tool use and multi-turn workflow design
- Production delivery experience: CI/CD, containerization (Docker), and operational readiness (monitoring, logging, incident response)
- Experience implementing and validating RAG systems (vector search, embeddings, retrieval quality) and testing approaches for non-deterministic outputs
- Ability to design for reliability and safety: failure mode thinking, graceful degradation, and clear human escalation paths
Desired Skills: - Experience in regulated financial services (SOX, GLBA, data classification, audit expectations) and partnering with security/risk teams
- Experience with evaluation frameworks and model monitoring practices (offline evals, online quality metrics, drift detection)
- Experience building multi-agent orchestration and constraint systems (delegation policies, budgets, timeouts, sandboxing)
- Familiarity with secure software development (threat modeling, SAST/DAST, secrets management) and prompt injection defenses
- Experience integrating AI copilots/agents into developer workflows and using "agentic coding" tools responsibly
