Job Description

The Manufacturing Execution System (MES) Developer is responsible for designing, developing, and implementing MES software systems that will integrate with an ERP system. This role requires a strong understanding of Agile software development methodology, experience with MES systems and modern manufacturing technology, critical thinking skills and a passion for creating solutions that drive efficiency while reducing waste in a manufacturing facility.

Roles & Responsibilities

Responsibilities:

• Design and develop MES workflow application with SQL Server and PLC integration.
• Create and maintain database stored procedures, functions, and scripts for use with MES applications
• Collaborate with key stakeholders to identify, document, and analyze MES application specifications and requirements with constant communication to evaluate and set priorities
• Utilize Azure Dev OPS to support an Agile CICD environment
• Provide technical support and collaborate with other IT teams to troubleshoot and resolve production issues to minimize down time and resolve time-critical issues related to MES applications
• Write and maintain User manuals, test plans, and application documentation
• Develop and maintain ETL processes to extract, transform, and load data into the database with SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS)
• Work with an incident/ticket system for support activities

Qualifications:

• BS in Computer Science or related degree
• 3+ years of experience in a fast-paced software development organization
• Expert programming skills in VB6, C#, C++, .NET framework or similar
• Solid experience in full stack development, including front-end technologies and back-end frameworks
• Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to rapidly identify and resolve software issues
• Experience with lean manufacturing processes, workflows, queueing theory, load leveling and data structures
• Solid understanding of ERP systems and integrations (Oracle 11i, Microsoft AX, and/or Microsoft Dynamics preferred)
• Experience developing SQL Server applications with database, stored procedures, and tools
• Experience with Azure DevOps, Visual Studio IDE, Power Shell scripting, SQL (Transact-SQL)
• Familiarity with Power Platform
• Ability to work independently and in a team environment, with excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Mandatory Skills - Expert programming skills in VB6, C#, C++, .NET framework or similar
• Desirable Skills - Cloud experience using React or Angular for front-end development, experience with hosting iFrames in a website, and SSO authentication between applications using APIs
