7245 - Senior IBM Maximo Technical Consultant – Onsite in Sacramento, CA

Staff Tech is seeking a highly skilled Senior IBM Maximo Technical Consultant for a long-term consulting opportunity in the Sacramento, California area. This position requires a strong technical background in IBM Maximo configuration, development, integrations, upgrades, and ongoing application support.

The consultant will work closely with IT operations, application support, GIS, data management, and other technical teams to support and optimize multiple Maximo environments.

Candidates must currently reside within commuting distance of the Sacramento/Elk Grove area. This position requires onsite work at least one day per week, with additional onsite days required based on business and project needs.

Responsibilities

• Configure and customize IBM Maximo modules to support business requirements, including workflows, screens, database configurations, escalations, security, and integrations.
• Develop and maintain Maximo applications, automation scripts, integrations, and technical components using Maximo development tools and technologies.
• Develop Automation Scripts using Python, Jython, and JavaScript.
• Develop and support TRM Rules Manager solutions using Java and JavaScript.
• Configure and develop integrations using the Maximo Integration Framework (MIF), including Object Structures, Enterprise Services, Publish Channels, REST APIs, integration endpoints, and inbound/outbound message processing.
• Participate in Maximo patching and upgrade projects, ensuring smooth implementation and minimal disruption to operations.
• Provide technical support for Maximo users, troubleshoot complex system issues, and perform root-cause analysis.
• Manage and maintain Maximo data, including data migrations and integrations, while ensuring data integrity and accuracy.
• Develop reports and ad hoc queries using Maximo reporting tools and SQL.
• Support IBM Maximo Application Suite (MAS), including technical administration and license lifecycle activities.
• Create and maintain technical documentation, system configurations, user guides, and troubleshooting procedures.
• Work with cross-functional technical and business teams to gather requirements and provide technical guidance.
• Lead, mentor, and train internal IT staff on IBM Maximo Application Suite support, maintenance, troubleshooting, and user assistance.
• Follow IBM Maximo technical standards and best practices.
• Travel between Sacramento-area work locations as required.

Required Qualifications

• Proven professional experience as an IBM Maximo Consultant, Developer, Technical Consultant, or similar Maximo-focused role.
• Strong knowledge of IBM Maximo modules, including:
• Work Management
• Asset Management
• Inventory Management
• Procurement
• Strong knowledge of Maximo Transportation and Utilities industry solutions and the Spatial add-on.
• Advanced experience with Maximo configuration and customization, including:
• Application Designer
• Database Configuration
• Workflow
• Escalations
• Security
• Supported Maximo configuration capabilities
• Hands-on experience with Maximo Automation Scripts, including Python, Jython, and JavaScript.
• Experience with TRM Rules Manager, including Java and JavaScript.
• Strong SQL skills and experience working with Oracle and SQL Server databases.
• Hands-on experience with the Maximo Integration Framework (MIF), including Object Structures, Enterprise Services, Publish Channels, REST APIs, integration endpoints, and inbound/outbound message processing.
• Experience with IBM Maximo Application Suite (MAS).
• Experience performing or supporting Maximo upgrades and patching.
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with technical and business teams.
• Must currently reside within commuting distance of the Sacramento/Elk Grove area and be available for required onsite work.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience supporting public utilities or utility-sector environments.
• Experience with Maximo Mobile applications.
• Experience with Maximo Application Framework (MAF).
• IBM Maximo certifications.
• Experience with IBM FileNet.

Work Environment

This is a professional consulting position supporting enterprise IBM Maximo environments. Occasional evening or weekend work may be required for upgrades, implementations, production support, or project deadlines.
