Overview:

PRINCIPAL DUTIES
  • Provide support services to District personnel with technical and information technology issues on computers, software, telephone, peripherals, and other network related services.
  • Ensure that requests for assistance are properly logged, assigned and responded to in a timely manner according to agreed standards and procedures.
  • Coordinate, diagnose and troubleshoot incoming calls and emails.
  • Provide timely resolution or escalation of problems to the appropriate technical personnel.
  • Continually develop and maintain database for tracking of assets and jobs.
  • Document and maintain accurate database records for all services provided.
  • Establish and maintain a strong working relationship with building personnel.
  • Assist in continuous technology training to end-users.
  • Assist Field Techs with installation of permanent equipment at district locations
  • Test and implement software applications for district use and maintain appropriate records.
  • Other duties may be assigned.

Information Technology Technician

$ 27.96 per hour

Forty (40) hours per week/ 12 months per year

Qualification:

PREPARATION, EXPERIENCE SKILLS
  • Three or more years IT support experience; helpdesk, training or technical support preferred.
  • Experience with desktop management/software deployment applications.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills
  • Consistent attention to detail.
  • Desire and aptitude to work with technical materials and equipment in a structured environment.
  • Experience in a Google environment.
  • Ability to work independently, as well as in a team environment.
  • Customer-oriented attitude.
  • Requires valid driver's license and ability to self-transport between district sites.
  • GED or High School diploma required. Additional post-secondary education or training, and employment experience in relevant IT area preferred.

The employee will frequently bend or twist at the neck and trunk more than the average person while performing the duties of this job. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds 0 - 12 feet and occasionally up to 20 feet, such as curriculum materials, desks, chairs, and boxes. The employee will sometimes push/pull items such as tables and carts. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision and the ability to adjust focus while supervising students and working with computers, written materials, reports, assessment data, etc.

The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet. The position requires the commitment of professional working hours that may require the employee to extend beyond a typical 8 hour workday.
