Job Overview:
We are seeking an experienced Oracle Cloud Engineer with deep expertise in Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) and related technologies. This role involves designing, implementing, and managing cloud-based database and middleware environments, while ensuring high availability, performance, and security.
The ideal candidate will have strong experience in Oracle database administration, cloud architecture, automation, and production support, along with the ability to work in a fast-paced, mission-critical environment.
This role may require after-hours, weekend support, and participation in an on-call rotation.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and manage Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) environments including databases, middleware, and infrastructure components
- Develop and maintain applications using Oracle APEX and ORDS
- Configure, administer, and maintain Oracle WebLogic Server environments
- Plan and execute database upgrades, migrations, and conversions
- Implement backup, recovery, and replication strategies using RMAN and Data Guard
- Ensure high availability, disaster recovery, and data protection strategies
- Monitor system performance and perform database tuning and optimization
- Automate routine administrative tasks using shell scripting and tools such as Ansible
- Collaborate with DevOps and development teams for seamless deployments
- Troubleshoot and resolve production issues, providing timely support
- Maintain documentation and share best practices for OCI environment management
Required Skills & Experience
- 10+ years of hands-on experience with Oracle technologies and cloud environments
- Strong experience with Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI)
- Expertise in:
- Oracle Application Express (APEX) 18+
- Oracle REST Data Services (ORDS) 22+
- Oracle WebLogic Server 14 (Fusion Middleware & WebLogic Suite)
- Oracle Database 19c and newer versions
- Container Database (CDB) and Pluggable Database (PDB) architecture
- Database upgrades (e.g., 19c to higher versions)
- PDB cloning
- RMAN backup and recovery
- WebLogic patching and maintenance
- Oracle Enterprise Manager (OEM)
- PSU patching using Fleet Management tools
- DBaaS in OCI
- Oracle Data Guard
- Proficiency in Linux/Unix systems and shell scripting
- Experience with GitLab and Ansible for automation
Additional Requirements
- Strong understanding of cloud computing architecture and principles
- Experience designing high-availability and disaster recovery solutions
- Familiarity with monitoring tools such as Oracle OEM Cloud Control
- Knowledge of containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes)
- Proficiency in scripting languages such as Python and JavaScript
- Strong knowledge of database security best practices
- Expertise in performance tuning and optimization
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
- Ability to support critical systems in a 24/7 environment
Preferred Qualifications
- Oracle certifications (OCIP, OCP, OCE)
- Experience with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins or GitLab CI
- Understanding of microservices architecture and API integrations
