Your Assignment:
- As a Process Engineering Intern for the Optics Polishing / CNC Milling, you will expect to perform a variety of engineering tasks including designing, developing and testing solutions; analyzing data; and troubleshooting production problems. You will also participate on projects to continuously improve processes that support optical manufacturing.
- Contribute to the optimization of production the Optics Polishing / CNC Milling.
- Design experiments focused on identifying root cause of existing production problems.
- Perform statistical analysis of process data in addition to any experimental data used for troubleshooting.
- Investigate deficiencies within production processes, with the intended focus of improving process controls.
- Draft robust production procedures, documenting manufacturable processes in the form of a work instruction.
Your Profile:
- Pursuing Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, Optical Engineering, Physics, Mechanical Engineering or relevant technical degree.

Responsibilities:
- Must be willing to work in a fabrication environment, wearing safety shoes, face mask, nitrile gloves and safety glasses.
- Operating/working around overhead cranes, polishing, CNC Milling and grinding machines.
- Working around lasers; working on platforms; and working around chemicals.
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee routinely is required to sit; walk; talk; hear; use hands to keyboard, finger, handle, and feel; stoop, kneel, crouch, twist, reach, and stretch.
- The employee may occasionally lift and/or move up to 20 pounds.
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
- Can work under deadlines.
- The environment generally is moderate in temperature with moderate to high noise level.
