Job Title: Lead Data Engineer with Power BI and Tableau

Location: Plano, TX Onsite

Duration: 12+ Months - W2 Contract

Experienced Lead Data Engineer with deep expertise in Power BI to spearhead our data engineering team and drive advanced analytics initiatives.

In this pivotal role, you will architect scalable data pipelines, optimize Power BI-centric solutions, and lead cross-functional efforts to transform raw data into actionable insights for enterprise decision-making.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain robust ETL/ELT pipelines using tools like Azure Data Factory, Synapse, or Databricks, with a primary focus on seamless integration and optimization for Power BI datasets and semantic models.
• Lead the creation and governance of Power BI data models, including complex DAX calculations, star schemas, incremental refresh strategies, and performance tuning to support real-time dashboards and executive reporting.
• Mentor a team of 5-8 data engineers and analysts, conducting code reviews, fostering best practices in data modeling, and upskilling on advanced Power BI features like AI visuals, composite models, and paginated reports.
• Collaborate with stakeholders across business units to translate requirements into scalable Power BI solutions, including custom visuals, row-level security (RLS), and embedded analytics for SaaS applications.
• Drive Power BI Premium/Embedded deployments, optimizing workspace configurations, gateways, and capacity management for high availability and cost efficiency.
• Conduct proof-of-concepts (POCs) for emerging Power BI integrations with Fabric, Copilot, or ML models, and evangelize adoption of Fabric lakehouses for unified analytics
