Position Overview

Our NYC-based Asset Management client is looking for a strong Business Analyst / Project Manager (BA/PM) to support initiatives within their Credit Funds business.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Asset Management, with hands-on experience working with Private Credit and/or Private Equity (PE) funds. The candidate should have a solid understanding of fund accounting and NAV calculations, including how NAV is calculated and managed for private market funds.

Key Responsibilities

• Work closely with business stakeholders, fund accounting teams, technology teams, and other partners to gather and document business requirements.
• Support projects and initiatives related to Private Credit and PE funds.
• Develop a strong understanding of fund structures, portfolio investments, valuations, cash flows, and NAV calculations.
• Analyze existing business processes and identify opportunities for process improvement and automation.
• Translate business requirements into clear functional specifications for technology teams.
• Manage project activities, timelines, dependencies, and deliverables.
• Coordinate with cross-functional teams to ensure successful implementation of projects.
• Participate in testing, UAT, issue resolution, and implementation activities.
• Prepare business documentation, process flows, requirements, and project status updates.

Required Qualifications

• Strong experience as a Business Analyst / Project Manager within Asset Management.
• Hands-on experience supporting Credit Funds, Private Credit, Private Equity, or other Private Markets.
• Strong understanding of NAV calculations for private credit and/or PE funds.
• Knowledge of fund accounting, investment valuations, capital activity, cash flows, and portfolio-level data.
• Experience gathering requirements and translating business needs into functional specifications.
• Strong project management, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to work effectively with both business and technology stakeholders.
• Experience working in a fast-paced financial services environment.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with fund accounting platforms, investment accounting systems, or portfolio management systems.
• Understanding of alternative investments and private markets.
• Experience with data analysis, reporting, and process automation.
• Experience managing projects from requirements through implementation and UAT.
• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business, Computer Science, or a related field preferred.

Ideal Candidate

The ideal candidate is someone who combines strong BA/PM skills with solid domain knowledge in Asset Management, particularly someone who understands how Private Credit/PE funds operate and how NAV is calculated. This is not a generic BA/PM position; direct experience with private funds and NAV processes is highly important.
