Role Summary
The Technical Operations Center Technician serves as a central point of contact for technology monitoring and support across a complex, enterprise wide environment operating 24x7. This role plays a critical part in maintaining the stability, availability, and security of networks, systems, and operational technologies that support essential business operations.
The technician actively monitors systems, responds to incidents, coordinates with internal teams and external vendors, and contributes to continuous improvement through documentation, analysis, and proactive problem resolution.
Key Responsibilities
• Monitor networks, servers, systems, applications, and connected devices across a large WAN environment
• Provide real time incident response and technical support for infrastructure, voice, security, and industrial control systems
• Initiate, manage, and coordinate vendor support cases to drive timely resolution
• Perform break fix configuration changes and troubleshooting to prevent or resolve outages
• Maintain accurate and detailed tickets, shift notes, and incident documentation
• Coordinate with internal departments, service providers, and operations teams to minimize downtime
• Escalate issues appropriately and own incidents through resolution
• Contribute to and improve technical documentation and standard operating procedures
Key Requirements
• Experience supporting enterprise technology environments or network operations centers
• Working knowledge of network routers, switches, firewalls, and wireless infrastructure
• Understanding of performance monitoring tools such as LogicMonitor, Splunk, ThousandEyes, or AppDynamics
• Familiarity with the OSI model, WAN technologies, and basic data and voice communications
• Basic knowledge of Windows Server systems and PC troubleshooting
• Exposure to SCADA, industrial control systems, or operational technology environments preferred
• Strong written and verbal communication skills with a customer focused mindset
• Ability to work independently, manage priorities, and adapt in a 24x7 operational environment
Schedule
• Initial training period Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM
• Post training rotating shift schedule to support 24x7 operations
• Current opening supports a Thursday through Saturday shift from 6:00 AM to 6:00 PM
• Shifts may change to ensure continuous coverage
Additional Information
• Supports over 200 network sites utilizing redundant communication technologies including MPLS, satellite, radio, and cellular
• May be required to support emergency response efforts, training, or short term travel as needed
