W2 Contract, Six Months (Possible Extension)
This position is onsite in Stafford, TX (77477).
The schedule for this position is Monday Friday, 6:30 AM 3:30 PM (CST).
Overview & Responsibilities
Work with a leading firm in the Oil & Gas industry specializing in downhole completions and artificial lift technology. As a Quality Control Inspector, you will be the final line of defense in ensuring manufactured components meet rigorous engineering and safety standards. This role is perfect for a detail-oriented technician who enjoys a mix of hands-on mechanical inspection and technical documentation in a collaborative, fast-paced manufacturing environment. You will
Perform visual and dimensional inspections on mechanical parts and machine components.
Utilize precision measurement tools including Vernier calipers, OD/ID micrometers, dial gauges, height gauges, and optical comparators.
Interpret technical engineering drawings, manufacturing specifications, and Material Test Reports (MTRs).
Document 100% of inspection results on check sheets and scan records into the quality management system.
Identify non-conformances and collaborate with manufacturing and design engineers to determine dispositions (Quality Notifications).
Manage receiving inspections for parts coming directly from outside vendors or off the machine.
Required Qualifications
High School Diploma or equivalent.
3+ years of experience in quality control inspection specifically focused on mechanical or manufactured parts.
Proven expertise in dimensional conformance (validating part measurements) rather than just NDE/integrity testing.
Strong proficiency in reading/interpreting technical drawings and engineering specifications.
Demonstrated ability to use mechanical hand tools (calipers, micrometers, gauges) to inspect machine parts.
Physical ability to lift 35-50 lbs and work in a fast-paced, noisy shop environment.
Preferred Qualifications
Previous experience within the Oil & Gas industry.
Knowledge of GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing).
Familiarity with SAP or similar ERP systems.
Knowledge of standards such as ASME, ASTM, or ISO17025.
